Arinsal brings together several different points of interest for planning a trip: trails, snowshoeing, cycling and religious art. The route options range from an easy circular trail to a cycling route rated difficult. The church of Sant Andreu adds a cultural dimension. This allows you to tailor your stay to the interests that matter most to you.

Circular trails with different starting points

The Comapedrosa Interpretive Circuit is an easy, 1.2 km circular trail and is suitable for families. Its length, circular layout and difficulty rating provide a clear basis for planning. The CamĂ del Coll de les Cases starts just before the centre of Arinsal. These two trails offer different selection criteria: for the circular trail, the distance and layout are specified, while for the CamĂ, it is the starting point near the centre. Conditions on the CamĂ can vary; take this into account when planning.

Snow, slopes and cycling

The Tomb del riu PollĂłs snowshoe circuit passes through a section of the Les Marrades ski runs in the Arinsal ski area. It is considered very easy and suitable for everyone. Snow and trail conditions are seasonal and changeable; bear this in mind when planning and check the current situation before setting out.

The Circuit Interpretatiu del Comapedrosa leads to the Arinsal ski runs and then back to the starting car park. By contrast, cycling route 12 between Erts and Arinsal is rated difficult: it is 7 km long, with an elevation gain of 574 metres and an average gradient of 8.2%. Compared with the 1.2 km easy circular trail, both the distance and difficulty rating are different. Elevation gain and gradient provide further concrete measures for planning your routes.

Another cycling attraction is Les Berques d’Arinsal in central Arinsal: the sports area has a wide, one-way BMX track. Current operating conditions may change; check the latest information before using it. Unlike cycling route 12, the focus here is on the track’s width and one-way layout.

Art and history at Sant Andreu

The church of Sant Andreu in Arinsal houses a 17th-century altarpiece. It is dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary, also known as the Virgin of the Snow. The same church also has a small Baroque statue of Saint Andrew. These two details show different forms of religious art: a dated altarpiece with a specific dedication, and a statue whose size and style are also specified.

Regional highlights in La Massana

La Massana also has its own regional cultural and landscape context. At the Farga Rossell, visitors can learn about the entire ironmaking and ironworking process, up to the production of iron bars. This also includes the development of the techniques used. Check the current visitor arrangements before your visit.

In Pal, within the wider destination of La Massana, stands the Romanesque church of Sant Climent. It was built between the 11th and 12th centuries and still has parts of its original masonry. The parish church of Sant Iscle and Santa Victòria in La Massana dates from the 17th century and was built over an older medieval place of worship. Inside are five Baroque altarpieces dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.

La Massana Còmic offers themed exhibitions by internationally renowned artists, talks with authors, film screenings and comic workshops. The museum opens only when exhibitions are being held, so check current access arrangements before visiting. Another way to discover the region is the Itinerari de la pedra seca, which passes through wooded and cultivated areas.

In the regional context, a gondola connects the centre of La Massana with Pal. Operational availability may vary; check it when planning your trip.
