Spille combines a long sandy beach with hikes and a cycling route through a landscape shaped by pine trees and hills. The beach coastline is about 15.5 km long. Fine sand and a considerable width of sand characterize the beach; it is also known for its very clean water and very clean sand. Pine forests surround the beach. When planning your trip, you can choose to focus on swimming, hiking or cycling.

Beach and Water Activities

The shallow water at Spille Beach makes it suitable for children. Swimming and various games in the sand are among the activities visitors enjoy. Summer camps or activities for children are often organized. These offerings are seasonal; check the current program locally.

Hiking Between the Beach, Hills and Lakes

The “Path of Lakes” starts at Spille Beach and heads east over gentle hills reaching heights of up to 190 m. Five artificial lakes lie along the route during the ascent. Unlike a day at the beach, this route takes you from the coastal area into hilly terrain, with the lakes marking the ascent.

The “Pines’ Route” leads from Bashtova Castle, near the villages of Rreth-Greth and Greth i Mesëm, toward Spille. It then runs south along the coastline of Spille Beach into the pine forest. The route is listed as 22 km, with a walking time of 6–8 hours including all stops. This gives you a concrete way to estimate the time needed for a longer day of hiking.

Cycling and Nature Destinations

The “Venetian Route” cycling route crosses the gentle hills west of Kavaja and follows the Adriatic coast at Spille. It therefore brings both the hills and the coast into your route planning.

Another nature destination is The Spring, a natural water source and tourist attraction about 1 km east of the center of Spille village. The path to the spring offers views of the valley and the slopes of the surrounding hills; how far the view extends can vary depending on conditions.

Spille Pine Forest also offers a nature experience while hiking: dense trees and low vegetation, chirping birds and various butterflies shape the surroundings. How easy it is to spot birds and butterflies can vary by season. If you want to distinguish between nature experiences, The Spring focuses on views of the valley and slopes, while the pine forest offers a hike among dense vegetation and opportunities to observe wildlife that vary with the seasons.

Check route information locally before setting out. Trail conditions and signage, as well as conditions on the path to the spring and on the cycling route, can change.
