Billund is the hometown of the LEGO brick and brings together several distinct experiences: interactive LEGO House, roller coasters at LEGOLAND, miniature worlds in Miniland, and water and outdoor activities at WOW PARK. When choosing what to visit, it is worth distinguishing between these different attractions. Consider whether your trip will focus more on playing with LEGO, rides, miniatures or outdoor activities.

LEGO House, LEGOLAND and Miniland

At LEGO House, the focus is on interactive LEGO experiences. The experience centre features 25 million LEGO bricks and inspiring play areas. Each experience zone is designed to encourage new skills through play. This gives LEGO House a different focus from the rides at LEGOLAND or the miniatures in Miniland: here, play and the experience zones take centre stage. Historically, the first LEGOLAND park opened in Billund. LEGOLAND’s roller coasters include Flying Eagle, Dragen and X-treme Racers.

Miniland offers a distinct experience: built from 20 million LEGO bricks, it features miniature versions of places, capitals, towns and famous buildings. While LEGO House emphasises play and experience zones, Miniland lets you view cityscapes and structures in miniature. This distinction is useful when weighing up active participation against viewing miniatures for your trip.

Water and outdoor activities

At WOW PARK Billund, Water World offers several water-based activities. You can sail mini-boats along small rivers, play with water using buckets, build dams and use water gates. You can also change the direction of the water flow. Unlike the LEGO experiences, the focus here is on waterways, dams and water gates. WOW PARK’s outdoor attractions also include suspension bridges, slides and underground caves. The selection therefore includes both water play and other outdoor activities.

Trails, sculptures and tours

Trails and the landscape offer other points of interest. The sculptures in Billund Sculpture Park are located along a paved path in a lush green area by Billund Bæk. The art, path surface and surroundings by the stream shape the character of this place. The Playline serves a different purpose: it connects the tourist attractions in eastern Billund with the town centre in the west. Different thermoplastic graphics mark the surface along the entire route, showing the way.

There are suggestions for several hikes around the town, as well as selected places to visit in Billund. Seven cycling routes have been established for exploring the Billund area by bike. When planning, you can distinguish between these options by their scope: the hiking suggestions cover tours around the town, while the cycling routes are intended for exploring the Billund area.

Getting there by train and bus

Vejle, Kolding, Fredericia and Give have railway stations with bus connections to Billund; the buses stop directly outside LEGOLAND. If you include this connection in your travel plans, check the timetable for your travel date in advance. This will help you coordinate your bus journey with your planned destination.
