Sillerslev brings together a beach, harbour and coastal route, each offering a different focus by the water: the beach is centred on swimming and activities, the harbour serves as both a commercial harbour and a marina, and the route leads to Sillerslev Havn and onwards towards Ørding. On the eastern shore of Sillerslev Øre, different water conditions shape the landscape. When planning your stay, it helps to consider time at the beach, walks, the coastal route and fishing as separate interests.

Beach and activities by the water

Sillerslev Beach has a bathing jetty, toilets, tables and benches, as well as a beach volleyball court. The water is shallow and calm, and the beach is particularly suitable for families with children. If you want to take children to the water, these conditions are a clear point to consider. Tables and benches offer space for breaks, while the volleyball court adds an activity away from the water. The gentle waves are also suitable for surfing, although suitability depends on the conditions. Sillerslev Beach also has Blue Flag status as a bathing area. Facilities may change, so check their current status before visiting.

Harbour and coastal route

Sillerslev Havn is both a commercial harbour and a marina. Fresh mussels, oysters and other delicacies are still landed there directly from the Limfjord; landings may vary by season. The harbour therefore offers a different perspective from the bathing area: commercial and maritime functions come together with the landings here, while the beach is centred on shallow, calm water and beach facilities.

The coastal route follows the fjord to Sillerslev Havn. From there, it continues along the coast, leaves the beach and climbs via Skallevej to Ørding Kærvej; it then continues to Ørding. The section along the fjord to the harbour is followed by a different kind of route: it does not stay on the beach throughout, but leads away from the beach and onwards towards Ørding. Shore conditions may affect alternative walking routes; take this into account when planning your route.

Coastal access and walks

At the end of Gammel Færgevej, roadside parking is available. From there, it is a short walk to the coast, and there are good opportunities for walks along the water. If you are planning a visit to the shore, this is a useful starting point. Access conditions may change, so check locally before setting out.

Fishing at Sillerslev Øre

On the eastern shore of Sillerslev Øre, the seabed drops away quickly, and deep water is close to shore. The often strong current and the transitions between deep and shallow areas create good conditions for fish feeding there. For anglers, this presents a different picture from Sillerslev Beach: the water there is shallow and calm, while depth and currents define the character of the eastern shore. This comparison can help you choose between a day at the beach and fishing at Øre.
