There are several ways to explore Løgstrup: Himmerlandsstien for cyclists and walkers, local history QR routes, an activity park, and themes relating to nature and history. If you are looking for a hotel, you can start by considering which of these interests you want to shape your stay. The routes, the Multipark and the historical themes differ in scale and focus, and can be incorporated into your plans accordingly.

Himmerlandsstien and local history QR routes

Himmerlandsstien (R35) is 69 km long and runs from Løgstrup near Viborg to Løgstør. The route is open to both cyclists and walkers. Its length and endpoints provide clear guidance for planning your trip: the route connects Løgstrup and Løgstør, and both modes of travel are possible. The 69 kilometres refer to the entire Himmerlandsstien. This makes it possible to consider your choice of transport separately from your choice of route: you can think of the R35 as a cycling or walking route while keeping its length and direction in mind.

Three local history QR routes also pass through Løgstrup. They have a different focus from Himmerlandsstien: they centre on local history, while the R35 is described in terms of its 69 km length and its endpoints, Løgstrup and Løgstør. When planning your trip, you can treat local history as a separate focus or consider Himmerlandsstien as a route between the two towns.

Activities and nature

Løgstrup Multipark is a large activity park between Løgstrup Skole and Løgstrup Hallen. It adds a different local focus to the routes: an activity park with two named landmarks. If you would rather plan around a single activity location than a route, the Multipark is clearly distinct from Himmerlandsstien and the QR routes.

At Løgstrup Hundeskov, dogs can run and play freely off the leash. The dog forest is also accessible from Himmerlandsstien. If off-leash exercise is important for your visit, check in advance whether this option is currently available.

The Blue Route at Taarupgaard offers a viewpoint overlooking Hjarbæk Fjord. The fjord is a wildlife reserve. The focus here is a specific viewpoint with a fjord view; by contrast, Himmerlandsstien is defined by its route length and two endpoints. These nature and trail themes are distinct, and you do not need to combine them into a single outing.

History from the Bronze Age to the 16th century

The oldest parts of the main buildings at Taarupgaard date from the 16th century. Southeast of Løgstrup, a unique and extremely complex farmstead was found, with extensive traces of bronze casting in its inner section. An amber disc from the Bronze Age bronze-casting farmstead in Løgstrup is undoubtedly interpreted as a sun symbol.

These historical themes offer different perspectives: Taarupgaard is about the age of parts of its buildings, the farmstead about archaeological traces, and the amber disc about a specific interpretation. Together, the dates span the Bronze Age to the 16th century. If you are interested in history, you can consider architectural history, archaeological finds and the interpretation of an object as different starting points for your trip.
