Lič: Cycling Routes, Nature and Local Culture
Accommodation in Lič
Lič combines cycling routes of varying lengths with nature attractions and local culture. Some routes begin in the center, while others pass through Ličko polje. There are also trails, an animal enclosure and a collection in the town center. When planning your trip, you can therefore choose between cycling, exploring nature and culture.
Cycling in Lič
Route F30 is a longer MTB route: it is 41 kilometers long, of moderate difficulty and includes 1,080 meters of elevation gain. It passes through Ličko polje, and its ascent begins in the center of Lič. The combination of length, difficulty and elevation gain gives you concrete points of reference for assessing the route.
At 7 kilometers, Route 10 is considerably shorter than F30. It begins in the center of Lič and heads toward Ličko polje and Podkobiljak. Through Ličko polje, it runs across meadows, cart tracks and gravel roads. This route description combines its length with a concrete impression of the landscape and terrain.
Route 11 is 9 kilometers long, also begins in the center and is considered an easy family cycling route. Route 7 starts there and passes Forest Fairy Tale on the way back. The routes therefore differ not only in length but also in the specific features mentioned for each one.
Nature Attractions and Trails
Forest Fairy Tale offers a walk through an enclosure with deer and wild boars. Its natural setting helps introduce children to the flora and fauna of the mountain region. Both the animals in the enclosure and the nature of the mountain region are central here.
At Vicićev Most, there are marked hiking trails for exploring nature, as well as a picnic and barbecue area by the river. The reconstruction of Vicićev Most was completed in 2023.
Culture in the Center of Lič
The Lič Ethnographic Collection is housed in the school building in the center of Lič. On display are local archival records, documents and photographs, objects from non-European cultures, Croatian naïve art, church vestments, liturgical objects and the interior of a bourgeois room. Alongside local records, the collection therefore also highlights art, religious objects and the furnishings of a living space. A visiting time slot of 3–5 pm on Sundays in July is listed; check in advance whether these opening hours are current.
