When planning a trip to Gössenberg, you can choose from several specific hiking destinations: the Styrian Lake, the Seewigtal valley and the Scheibleck. The options differ in destination, access and type of tour—from a loop around the lake to a hike reaching the Scheibleck at 2,117 m. When planning your day, it is therefore worth considering not only your destination but also the relevant starting point and the conditions for getting there.

Panoramic Views and Elevation

The Klausnerhof is situated at an elevation of 1,050 m in a panoramic location; from there, the view extends across the entire Enns Valley and to the Dachstein massif. This landscape may be a factor when choosing a destination, alongside your planned hiking activities.

To the Styrian Lake

The Styrian Lake can be reached from Aich via Gössenberg. Seasonal road conditions can change, so check the current situation before setting out. The Five-Mountains Tour | 310 also passes through Gössenberg into the Seewigtal valley and on to the Styrian Lake. The lake can also be circled in winter, although snow and ice may affect how practical this is. Travelling via Aich and Gössenberg addresses a different planning question from a winter walk around the lake: the first is about access, while the second is about walking conditions.

Hüttensee and Hans-Wödl-Hütte

Hüttensee and Obersee lie on terraces above the Bodensee; steep hiking trails lead to them. If one of these two lakes is your destination, factor the steep ascent into your route choice. The hike to the Hans-Wödl-Hütte starts at the car park in the Seewigtal valley, which can be reached via Aich/Gössenberg. Trail No. 782 leads from the far end of the Styrian Lake, past a waterfall, to the Hans-Wödl-Hütte at Hüttensee.

The Route to the Scheibleck

The Gössenberg–Pleschnitzzinken–Ochsenkarhöhe–Scheibleck hike reaches an elevation of 2,117 m at the Scheibleck. From the B320, the route can be accessed via Gössenberg or the Seewigtal valley, as well as via the toll road to the Loipoldhof. Road and toll conditions can change, so check these details before setting out. Unlike the loop around the lake, this route is notable for its stated elevation; planning also needs to take account of the toll road to the Loipoldhof.
