Uttendorf brings together hiking trails, the adventure bathing lake and the Stoanabichl Celtic Village, along with routes to Enzingerboden. If you are planning a hotel stay, you can arrange the attractions according to what matters most to you: a particular route, various facilities by the water, a guided visit or the drive into the Stubach Valley. For your choice, the route format, type of activity and transport are therefore separate considerations. The trails can be compared by their format and length; at the bathing lake, the choice between water-based and other activity options takes centre stage.

Hiking trails in different formats

The Butterfly Educational Trail starts in Uttendorf village and ends at the Alpengasthaus Liebenberg. According to the Austrian Federal Trail Register, it is about three kilometres long and takes around one and a half hours. The Agriculture Theme Trail in the Schwarzenbach district has a different format: it is a family-friendly circular route and about 3.9 kilometres long. The comparison highlights two points to consider when choosing a hike: the theme trail is slightly longer and forms a loop, while the Butterfly Educational Trail has named starting and ending points and an approximate duration. So when planning your day, you can take the route format, distance and stated walking time into account separately.

Facilities at the adventure bathing lake

Uttendorf adventure bathing lake has a giant water slide, a climbing iceberg, a water trampoline and swimming islands. Other facilities include beach volleyball courts, a sports park, a bouldering park and a children's playground. This brings together water activities and other options for exercise and play. When planning your day, you can decide whether you would like to focus on the water facilities or on beach volleyball, sports and bouldering. Unlike the hiking trails, where the route and length shape your choice, the bathing lake brings together different types of facilities in one destination.

Getting to Enzingerboden

The toll-free panoramic road through the Stubach Valley runs from Uttendorf for around 17 kilometres to the valley station in Enzingerboden. By public transport, Postbus buses or the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn connect Zell am See railway station with Uttendorf. In summer, Postbus route 672 runs directly from there to the cable car valley station. When choosing your route, it is useful to distinguish between Uttendorf as the destination of the connection from Zell am See and the valley station as the destination of the summer service. Check the current timetable before setting out, especially if you plan to use route 672, which is mentioned as a summer service.

Stoanabichl Celtic Village

The Stoanabichl Celtic Village is located in Uttendorf on a naturally protected hilltop at an altitude of about 1,000 metres. Guided tours use audio guides in German, English, Italian, Dutch and Czech. This gives you two specific points to help plan a visit: the altitude and the choice of languages available for a guided tour. If one of the listed languages is important to you, you can take this into account when deciding whether to include the Celtic Village in your itinerary.
