When planning a stay in Grubing, two questions are particularly helpful: Is your focus on winter sports or hiking, and do the KUHOBA activities fit your travel dates? The Panorama Cable Car, educational trails by the water and programs for children each offer a different focus. You can first decide on the season and the activities you want, then look for hotels for your stay.

Panorama Cable Car: Winter access and summer in the mountains

The Panorama Cable Car in Grubing is a two-section monocable circulating ropeway. It reaches the Resterkogel mountain station at an altitude of 1,892 meters in twelve minutes. In winter, it is the southernmost access point to the KitzSki ski area and provides direct access to around 170 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes. The slope length is a guideline; the extent and operating conditions may vary by season. In summer, the cable car opens up an easily accessible hiking area with views of the core zone of Hohe Tauern National Park. The activities therefore differ clearly by season: winter access to the ski area and hiking with mountain views are the two seasonal highlights.

Educational trails and views at Resterkogel

At the Resterkogel reservoir, the Water Educational Trail explains the importance of water to the Resterkogel habitat. An observation platform there offers a scenic resting place and a photo spot with views of the Hohe Tauern mountains. The Hollersbach Stream Trail has a different thematic focus: it follows the Hollersbach stream to Wirtsalm. Ten information panels cover birds by the stream, native fish, the power of water and rocks. This lets you choose between an educational trail focused on water as a factor in the habitat and a route covering several topics related to the stream and landscape.

KUHOBA activities for children and adults

The KIDS ART WEEK holiday program at KUHOBA in Grubing is for children aged six and over and takes place for one week each in July and August. The KUHOBA Kids WORKSHOP is intended for children aged five to ten who play outdoors; it takes place on the first Monday of every month. The two activities therefore differ both in age range and format: KIDS ART WEEK is a one-week holiday program, while the Kids WORKSHOP takes place monthly. The KUHOBA workshop also regularly holds courses on various topics. Workshops for children and adults can be booked on request. If a particular program is important to your trip, take its dates and the request-based booking process into account when planning.

Getting to the valley station

The valley station of the Panorama Cable Car is in Hollersbach, in the Grubing district. It is served by rail and bus and is directly on the Salzachtal Cycle Path. This gives you several reference points for planning your journey: you can check train and bus timetables for your intended travel date, while the cycle path runs right past the valley station. Together with the Panorama Cable Car’s seasonal activities, this gives you a clear picture of the activities to consider when choosing your travel dates.
