Hollersbach im Pinzgau can be explored through a range of interests: the seasonal Panoramabahn, trails along the Hollersbach, a bookable nature module, and art and culture. If you’re looking for a hotel, first consider which of these themes you want to shape your stay. Winter access to the ski slopes, summer views, a stream-side route and events in August are different starting points for planning your trip.

Panoramabahn: Winter access and summer views

The Panoramabahn Hollersbach takes guests to the mountain station at Resterkogel, 1,892 metres above sea level, in twelve minutes. In winter, it is the southernmost access point to the world-famous KitzSki ski area. From Hollersbach, winter sports enthusiasts have direct access to around 170 kilometres of excellently groomed pistes of all difficulty levels. The lift operates seasonally, so check the timetable for your travel dates.

In summer, the gondola ride offers views of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Alpine landscape. Depending on the season, a different aspect of the lift takes centre stage: in winter, access to the pistes; in summer, the views during the ride. When choosing your travel dates, you can take this difference between the winter offering and the summer landscape experience into account.

Trails along the stream and bases for hikers

The Bachlehrweg starts at the entrance to the Hollersbachtal by the Seestube car park and follows the Hollersbach stream to the Wirtsalm. Its starting point, route and destination describe a specific waterside trail. The Fürtherhütte serves a different purpose: it is a welcome base for mountaineers and ambitious hikers on the Tauern Westweg or Arnoweg. This means there are two different approaches to planning here—a trail with a named start and destination, and a hut serving as a base on two named routes.

The Bienenlehrpfad adds views of the Hohe Tauern panorama to the selection. You can therefore decide whether you’d rather follow a stream-side route, use a base for the named mountain trails or explore an educational trail with views. These specific connections to trails and landscapes offer different ways to shape your stay.

Experience nature and make use of herbs

The bookable educational module “So schmeckt die Natur” takes participants from gathering to processing: in the area around the Nationalpark-Werkstatt, they collect herbs and plants, process them in the Nationalpark kitchen at Klausnerhaus and sample the treats they have prepared. Unlike a hike, the focus here is on hands-on work with plants and food. As participation requirements may change, check the module for your preferred date.

Church history and Malerwochen

The parish church of Saint Vitus and the local history museum also offer a cultural point of interest: individual pieces of the church’s Baroque furnishings can be viewed at the local history museum. The display may change. If these pieces are important to your travel plans, check visitor information in advance.

Every August, the Malerwochen turn Hollersbach im Pinzgau into a venue for international art. At the “Kramerstall” art hall, participants can hone their skills in various painting techniques under the guidance of artists. The exact dates vary, and programme details may also change with each edition. If you’re travelling for the Malerwochen, plan your trip around the relevant edition.

Combine your travel dates with your hotel search

The Malerwochen may shape your plans for August; the nature module is another activity whose participation details you should check in advance. You can start your hotel search by considering your travel dates and the experiences that matter to you.
