In Irenental, cultural history and activities in the Vienna Woods go hand in hand when planning your trip. The Maria Schnee parish church, the Tullnerbach Cultural Trail, and cycling and hiking routes each offer a different focus. When looking for a hotel in Irenental, you can first decide whether you would like to base your stay more on local history or on specific tours.

Cultural history and notable landmarks

The Maria Schnee parish church in Irenental is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Its patronal feast, “Maria Schnee” (Our Lady of the Snows), is celebrated on August 5. It was built as a hall church between 1900 and 1901. Its dedication and construction date offer different points of historical interest.

The Tullnerbach Cultural Trail starts in Irenental and then continues along the Karl-Ritter-Weg. Its first stop is at Wundererplatz in Irenental. The square is named after Alexander Wunderer (1877–1955), an oboist with the k.k. Court Opera Orchestra and a member of the Vienna Philharmonic. At this first stop, route-finding and local musical history come together.

In the wider area around Irenental, the ruins of Sancta Maria in Paradyso monastery lie at the edge of the municipality of Tullnerbach and on the border with Sieghartskirchen. Remains of the nave and choir of the former monastery church have been preserved. The ruins add another site, explicitly recorded as a former monastery, to Irenental’s church history.

Nature, archery, and events
