When looking for a hotel in Radenthein, it is worth first deciding what you want to focus on during your stay. The experiences include gemstones, mills and various routes, but each offers a different emphasis. At Granatium, the focus is on digging out gemstones yourself; on the Kaning Mill Hiking Trail, restored FlodermĂĽhlen mills are joined by other facilities. The two named routes differ in the connections they make and the features described for each. This lets you base your hotel choice on the activity that matters most to you, rather than treating different activities as interchangeable day-trip destinations.

Granatium: Get hands-on at the rock face and in the tunnel

At Granatium Radenthein, visitors can use suitable tools to dig gemstones out of the rock themselves. They can also walk through the mysteriously illuminated garnet tunnel. These two offerings have different focuses within the same named destination: when digging, visitors work on the rock with tools; in the tunnel, they walk through an illuminated passage. If you are interested in Granatium, you can use this distinction to plan your time and consider which of the two experiences you would like to shape your stay more.

The Kaning Mill Hiking Trail

The Kaning Mill Hiking Trail in the Radenthein area includes six restored FlodermĂĽhlen mills that have been opened to the public. The trail also features a bread-baking room, a Kneipp pool and play facilities for children. The mills are therefore joined by other specific features of the trail that you can take into account when making your choice. There is also an important trail update for your visit: the trail is currently closed after about 1.5 kilometres. Follow the marked route through the forest or along the forest road, and check conditions again before you travel.

Two different routes

The Path of Jewels connects Lake Millstatt, Radenthein and the Arkerkopf, a peak in the heart of the Nockberge Biosphere Park. These points of interest include the lake, the town and a peak within the biosphere park. The Seental Cycle Path follows a different route: it is 2.3 kilometres long and connects Radenthein’s entrance gate with the bridge to the Waldwegsiedlung Döbriach settlement on Lake Millstatt. As a nature-oriented, streamside link on the R2B cycle route, it is suitable for cyclists and pedestrians. The Path of Jewels focuses on the places it connects and the peak; the Seental Cycle Path also has a specified length and named user groups. This lets you decide whether a route linking several points of interest or a measured route for pedestrians and cyclists is a better fit for your plans.
