Yangsan-Si can be explored through a variety of themes: city panoramas, river views, market activity and cultural history. When choosing a hotel, it helps to decide first which of these themes will shape your trip. The places and activities offer different ways to explore them; the market calendar also provides a specific date to help with planning.

City panoramas and river views

The 160-meter-high Yangsan Tower offers 360-degree panoramic views of the city of Yangsan from its glass observation deck. From there, you can look out along the Yangsancheon over the nighttime cityscape of the new and old downtown areas. Depending on visibility, the view also extends south toward the Nakdong River estuary and north toward Ulju-gun. At the tower, the focus is on a broad perspective of the city. It can be reached from Namyangsan subway station via Exit 1 and the path along the riverbank; check these directions before your visit.

Walk across Yangsancheon Cloud Bridge

Yangsancheon Cloud Bridge is for pedestrians only and connects Yangsan Sports Complex in Jungbu-dong with Chunchu Park in Gangseo-dong. Its features include sections with swaying bridges and transparent floor panels overlooking the Yangsancheon. Unlike the panoramic views from the tower, here the focus is on the bridge structure and the river views through the floor panels. Yangsan Music Fountain lies between Yeongdae Bridge and Yangsancheon Cloud Bridge; it is 84.6 meters long and 3.2 meters wide.

Market days and goods at Nambu Market

Nambu Market opened as a permanent market in 1980. Its regular market days are the 1st, 6th, 11th, 16th, 21st and 26th of each month. These are dates of the month, not fixed days of the week. If you are planning a visit specifically for the market, match the date to your travel plans and check the schedule before you travel. Goods include locally grown fresh produce, as well as fish, seaweed and shellfish; the current selection may vary.

Museum and city culture

Yangsan Museum opened on April 11, 2013, to preserve and research cultural artifacts excavated in the Yangsan area and to serve as an educational and cultural center. Across five floors, it presents Yangsan’s history and culture. The main hall comprises a history hall, an ancient history hall, a historical experience hall for children, a special exhibition hall and a 3D visualization hall. The layout combines historical subject areas with dedicated spaces for special exhibitions and 3D visualization.
