When planning a stay in Hanam-si, you can draw on its different features to shape your trip: riverside and forest landscapes, hiking trails on Geomdansan, a historic fortress or market life. This makes it easy to decide whether to focus on nature, summit trails or culture.

Riverside landscapes and urban forest

In Hanam-si, Han River Ecological Park covers a riverside area of about 991,000 m² around Misa Rowing Park. Its largely natural ecosystem defines the character of the park, while its size gives you an idea of the extent of this landscape.

Another riverside path is in Misa-dong: the 5.3 km route is lined with 850 zelkova trees. At Namu Orphanage, a different aspect of nature is combined with environmental education. The urban forest park, covering about 89,000 m², includes 46 tree species, including pines, plane trees, ginkgos and zelkovas. It is used for environmental education and conveys the importance of nature conservation. The riverside path, ecosystem and urban forest offer different ways to explore the landscape of Hanam-si.

Geomdansan: Summit and hiking trails

Geomdansan is 657 m high and is considered an important mountain in Hanam-si. Near the summit is a broad open area with panoramic views. The mountain landscape also includes a valley walk alongside the cool, flowing water of a mountain stream.

The trails vary in length, approximate duration and waypoints. This information helps you compare the routes for your day’s plans; on its own, it says nothing about their level of difficulty.

Fortress and market

Iseongsanseong Fortress in Chun-gung-dong, Hanam-si, dates back to the Three Kingdoms period of Korea. Its walls are about 5 m high and its perimeter is approximately 2 km. An AR experience area links the Hanam History Museum and the fortress: the museum’s app lets you connect museum objects with the remains of the fortress. Check that the app is available before your visit.

In September 2025, Deokpung Market’s five-day market was recorded as taking place on dates ending in 4 or 9: the 4th, 14th and 24th, and the 9th, 19th and 29th. Market stalls sell fruit, vegetables, seafood, other food products, household goods and prepared dishes. Check the current market calendar before your trip.
