North West offers several very different starting points for a trip: game drives and bush walks, an exceptional impact structure, trails through woodland and bushveld, and distinctive water experiences. The Vredefort Dome lies partly in North West province. It is the oldest, largest and most heavily eroded complex meteorite impact structure in the world. The Taung Heritage Route extends for more than 45 kilometres and includes a limestone waterfall and the Blue Pools. The Valley of Waves’ Roaring Lagoon offers a different water experience, with two-metre-high waves rising every 90 seconds.
