Consider which interests will shape your trip; this will help you compare hotel options with the activities that actually matter to you. Coastal scenery and golf offer different kinds of experiences.

Coast and Parking

A day-use parking fee or day-use parking pass has been in effect at Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site since March 30, 2026. Check the current parking rules before heading out. Near Gleneden Beach, the Salishan Spit extends for four miles, and sea lions live at its tip. The spit is accessible by continuing along the beach. This stretch of coast combines scenery and wildlife viewing, while the parking fee is a specific condition for visiting the Recreation Site.

Golf, Nature Trail, and Aerial Park

Salishan Golf Links is an 18-hole championship course. The trees and coastal vegetation around the playing areas have been left as natural as possible. The golf offering can therefore be considered in terms of both the course size and its described landscape.

Another outdoor option at Salishan is the one-mile nature trail from the Salishan Marketplace parking lot to the sandy beach at the Salishan Spit. Trail conditions and access rules may change; check both before your visit. The distances refer to different things: one mile describes the trail from the parking lot to the beach, while four miles is the length of the spit itself. This distinction helps put the two figures in context when planning your day, without treating them as equivalent route lengths.

A description of Salishan Coastal Lodge’s Aerial Park, updated in 2021, mentions a self-guided course maze with 15 platforms and 21 challenge elements. Activity details may change; check the latest information if you plan to visit the park.

Local Events and Dining

The Gleneden Beach Community Club hosts a public pancake breakfast on the first Sunday of every month except January. If you’d like to plan your visit around it, check the event calendar beforehand. This lets you confirm the date against its monthly schedule and January break.

Visitors can get a craft beverage at Beachcrest Brewing in the Salishan Marketplace. The Attic @ Salishan offers a farm-to-fork experience focused on sustainably sourced ingredients. Check before your trip to see whether both options are currently available.

Coastal Events

The Gleneden Beach Fourth of July Parade began in 1995. A parade featuring live music, local food and crafts, and a Star-Spangled Beer Garden has been announced for 2027. These are two different points in time: 1995 marks the beginning of the parade’s history, while the event program announcement refers to 2027. The program may change from year to year. If the event determines your travel dates, check the latest event details in advance.
