Hubbard offers several different ways to shape your stay: local history at the McBride House, recreational amenities at Harding Park and golf at Pine Lakes. “Music in the Park” adds a concert series to the mix. You can tailor your stay to what interests you most: history, park amenities, golf or a concert.

Local History at the McBride House

The McBride House at 27 Hager St. was built in 1883 and sold to John McBride in 1909. The property originally belonged to Samuel Tylee, Hubbard’s first settler. The house has been home to the Hubbard Historical Society since 1997. Its history therefore spans the area’s early settlement through its present-day institutional use.

Harding Park: History and Recreational Amenities

The history of Harding Park began with a land donation: in 1922, Jacob Kalver gave the village of Hubbard a 37.6-acre property. It was intended for a park and public recreational amenities; the name “Harding Park” was to remain in perpetuity. The dedication and the range of amenities available today offer two different points of interest for anyone curious about the development and use of public recreation spaces.

Harding Park offers pavilion rentals; the pavilions are equipped with restrooms and appliances. Other amenities include covered shelters, a wedding pagoda, a bandstand, a scout cabin, a fitness trail and several playground areas. Sports and recreation facilities include volleyball and bocce courts, horseshoe pits, baseball and soccer fields, and tennis and pickleball courts. Permanent outdoor grills and public restrooms round out the facilities. Balls and horseshoes are not included for use at the bocce courts and horseshoe pits.

The amenities cater to a range of activities and events, from sports fields to the bandstand. When planning, keep your preferred activities in mind: the equipment for the bocce courts and horseshoe pits mentioned above is not included, while pavilion rentals and covered shelters offer separate options in the park.
