Warren: Culture, Parks, and Special Experiences
Accommodation in Warren
A Z06 driving experience at NCM Motorsports Park makes a striking impression: four laps in a lead-and-follow format take you around a 3.2-mile road course with 23 turns. Warren also offers parks, museums, stage shows, and waterfront activities. This makes it easy to tailor your stay to your interests without limiting your trip to a single theme.
Parks, Water, and Recreation
At Drakes Creek, Phil Moore Park offers access to fishing. Basil Griffin Park provides another option by the water, with a boat ramp on the lake and access to fishing at FINS Lake. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks the lake. This gives you two different fishing locations to consider, with the boat ramp at Basil Griffin Park as an additional option.
At Ephram White Park, hiking and disc golf go hand in hand, though each calls for a different kind of day: the hiking trail is five miles long, while the disc golf course has 18 holes. If you would rather spend time by the water than on a hiking trail, you can consider fishing at Drakes Creek or FINS Lake. The choice of activity is yours.
Warren also offers rides. Beech Bend Park has rides and attractions for all ages and a range of appetites for adventure. Splash Lagoon Water Park has a lazy river attraction. So you can choose from a variety of rides as well as a water park experience.
Motorsports and Guided Experiences
The Z06 road course experience is precisely defined: four laps on a 3.2-mile course with 23 turns in a lead-and-follow format. For a guided activity during your stay, Lost River Cave offers a guided walk along the riverbank. Both offer a different focus from spending time in a park on your own: one centers on the driving experience, the other on walking together along the riverbank.
History, Art, and Stage
Riverview at Hobson Grove is a historic house museum with views from the cupola. The Kentucky Museum has a log cabin on permanent display that was built in Logan County around 1810. The two places offer different points of entry into history: one centers on a historic house museum, the other on a permanently displayed log cabin and its own history.
At the National Corvette Museum, the Nostalgia Gallery features classic Corvette models and memorabilia from Corvette history. The Downing Museum has a year-round permanent exhibition devoted to Joe Downing’s life and work. Art lovers can find works by local, regional, and national artists at the Goodwin Gallery in SKYPAC. The selection ranges from a clearly automotive theme to art from several geographic contexts.
There is also a dedicated option for a night at the theater: the Rita & Jim Scott Concert Hall at SKYPAC hosts touring shows spanning Broadway, country, rock ’n’ roll, and comedy. The range of genres makes for a broad selection without limiting you to just one type of event.
Views and a Scenic Byway
Baker Arboretum offers views of Bowling Green and the Western Kentucky University campus. The 80-mile Duncan Hines Scenic Byway, a loop through Warren and Edmonson Counties, offers a different perspective on the area. The loop begins and ends at the Duncan Hines historical marker. Viewpoints and a named scenic loop offer two different ways to include the landscape and surroundings in your travel plans.
