Amelia Earhart: Home and Aircraft
The Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum preserves the Victorian home where Amelia Earhart was born on July 24, 1897, and lived intermittently until eighth grade. At the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum, Muriel is the centerpiece of the exhibition: it is the world’s last surviving Lockheed Electra 10-E. Together, they offer two distinct perspectives—Earhart’s early home and an aircraft model that takes center stage in the exhibition itself.

At Atchison State Fishing Lake, the surroundings are shaped by wooded, rounded hills with oak-hickory forests and broad, cultivated valleys. Together, these offer both a river landscape with wetlands and scenery defined by hills, woods, and open valleys.
