Braselton offers several distinct ways to explore the area: local history at museums and on guided walks, a path along the Mulberry River, seasonal market activity, and community events on the Town Green. If you’re looking for a hotel in Braselton, you can plan your trip around whichever of these interests you most. For choosing dates, the tours, seasonal market schedule, and year-round community events offer different points of reference.

History at museums and historic sites

The Braselton Heritage Center displays artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia from Braselton’s early days. The Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Enterprise Roller Mill Museum offers a different focus: it preserves the original equipment and presents Braselton’s agricultural history. The Enterprise Roller Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At the height of its operations, it processed up to 70 barrels of flour per day. This production figure conveys the scale of the operation alongside the preserved equipment.

The Braselton Mulberry RiverWalk

The Braselton Mulberry RiverWalk is a 4.4-mile out-and-back trail along the Mulberry River. The trail is easy to walk, dog-friendly, and has only slight elevation changes. Its length, ease of access, and elevation profile give you concrete points of reference when planning a walk along the river. If you’re traveling with a dog, the stated dog-friendly access is another helpful factor when choosing a trail.

Guided tours of Braselton

The Braselton Trolley’s 60-minute narrated tour begins in historic Downtown Braselton and departs from The Mill Welcome Center. It is offered on select Saturdays. The “Historic Downtown Tour” is a 90-minute guided tour of Braselton’s historic district. When planning your time, note that these two tours differ by 30 minutes. The “Historic Walking Tour” also passes 14 Braselton landmarks dating from the late 19th century. The three formats offer different experiences: a narrated trolley tour, a guided tour of the historic district, and a walk past historic landmarks.

Farmers Market and events on the Town Green

The Braselton Farmers Market takes place on the Braselton Town Green in the historic downtown. It offers only locally grown or prepared products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, farm-fresh eggs, meat, and artisan baked goods and preserves. From May through September, the market is held every Friday. Community events are also held year-round on the Braselton Town Green. The distinction is useful when choosing dates: the market has a seasonal Friday schedule, while the community events take place throughout the year.

Race track and arboretum

The Driving Club at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta gives visitors the opportunity to drive on the 2.54-mile race track. Braselton is also home to Thompson Mills Forest, Georgia’s official state arboretum. As an arboretum, the Forest offers a distinct theme alongside the historic museums and tours. Before your trip, check the Heritage Center’s opening hours, as well as the dates of the tours, Farmers Market, and Driving Club activity.
