Lake Elsinore can be experienced from several perspectives: water and shoreline, historic addresses in Historic Downtown, and sports and events. When planning your trip, consider which focus you want to shape your stay. The options range from fishing and hiking to historic places and special experiences.

Lake, Shoreline, and Activities

Lake Elsinore covers 3,000 acres of water and has more than 14 miles of shoreline. Public beaches have picnic and shaded areas. Fishing is also one of the activities available at the lake. For hiking, there is a four-mile dam trail. You can combine activities by the lake with a hiking option rather than making your stay revolve around just one focus.

The Lake Elsinore Recreation Area has 153 spaces for vehicles with trailers. Since capacity may change, check the current information before your visit. Launch Pointe at Lake Elsinore has a public boating facility with a six-lane boat ramp and newly redesigned boat slips. The facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Public access details may change; if you plan to use the facility, check the latest information in advance.

Historic Places and Historic Downtown

The Crescent Bath House, also known as The Chimes, was built in 1887 and still stands in Historic Downtown. It is listed as a National Historic Site. The Sante Fe train depot at the corner of Graham Avenue and Spring Street has also been preserved. Both places offer tangible points of reference for Lake Elsinore’s historic character, with the Bath House and depot distinguished by their different details about construction history and location.

Tours are available by prior arrangement at the Lake Elsinore Historical Society. If you would like to include a tour in your plans, arrange it in advance. Historic Downtown also offers restaurants as well as antique and boutique shops. The selection combines historic addresses with places to eat and shop; individual businesses may change. So check which options are currently available for your visit.

The stadium can be reconfigured for concerts, auto racing, motocross races, and boxing and combat sports events. The configuration may be updated; if a particular date is important to your trip, check the latest event information.

The Lake Elsinore Raceway track is designed for beginners, intermediate riders, and experienced riders. The Beginner Track is intended for children up to and including six years old. Since track operations may change, check the latest information before visiting.

A tandem skydive with Skydive Elsinore offers aerial views of Lake Elsinore. Tandem jumps are conducted by tandem instructors certified by the United States Parachute Association (USPA). Alongside activities on the water, historic interests, and stadium events, an experience in the air is another possible focus for your trip.
