Eastvale: Parks, Trail, and Events
Accommodation in Eastvale
Eastvale brings together river landscapes, parks, and events throughout the year. The Eastvale Trail offers a well-defined way to spend time outdoors; several parks have their own distinctive features, from a jogging path to water play areas. There are also recurring festivals and examples of the area’s agricultural and local history. These varied themes can help you decide what you’d like to do in Eastvale during your trip.
Parks and Trails in Eastvale
Eastvale currently has 18 parks, with about 250 acres of open space in total. Individual parks differ in size and in the amenities they offer. Eastvale Community Park covers 46.53 acres. It has a route for jogging, running, and cycling, as well as a soccer field. Harada Heritage Park covers 30.72 acres and has a dog park with agility equipment. American Heroes Park also has a dog park with agility equipment, as well as a soccer field. The water play area and splash pad are highlights of Cedar Creek Park. Eastvale’s parks therefore offer a variety of specific options for exercise or spending time outdoors.
The Eastvale Trail is a small section of the Santa Ana River Trail along the Santa Ana River, between Archibald Avenue and Hamner Avenue. It is 2.61 miles long and can be used on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback. You can think of the trail as a route in its own right, while the parks mentioned above offer individual spaces with different amenities. If you’re planning an active outing, you can choose between a route along the river and the specific amenities available at each park.
Events Throughout the Year
Picnic in the Park takes place every June at Eastvale Community Park. The three-day event features live entertainment, family games, food, vendor booths, and fireworks. A winter event is the Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting Ceremony. It is usually held on the first Saturday in December at Eastvale Community Center, 13820 Schleisman Road. The Winter Wonderland celebration includes a snow play area, Christmas carols, craft activities, and Santa’s arrival.
The Annual Fall Festival is usually held on the first Saturday in October. The Fall Festival tradition began in 2004 at Midhill Dairy to celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage and dairy farming. Harada Heritage Park, 13099 65th Street, Eastvale, CA 92880, also hosts an event every Friday from the first week of July through mid-August. Eastvale’s Community Services Department puts on an event nearly every month of the year. Community events feature food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, and entertainment. Annual event dates and programs may change, so check the details if you’re planning your trip around them.
Agricultural History and Preserved Details
The land in Eastvale has been used for agriculture and dairy farming for at least the past 176 years. This history is also linked to the Fall Festival tradition, which began in 2004 at Midhill Dairy with the aim of celebrating the region’s agricultural heritage and dairy farming. The Desi House offers another tangible connection to local history. The Altfillisch family moved the house to its present location. Details of the kitchen tiles, the layout of the living area, the fireplace, and the location of the well have been preserved.
