Several routes start in Samnaun-Ravaisch; individual leisure activities are located between Samnaun Dorf and Samnaun-Ravaisch. When looking for a hotel in Ravaisch, it helps to first decide what you want to focus on during your trip: the cable car and ski area, a hiking or snowshoe route, cycling, or activities in the forest. Starting points, destinations and seasonal conditions vary, which you can take into account when planning your day.

Cable Car and Access to the Ski Area

The PostBus from Scuol reaches the valley station of the mountain railways in Samnaun-Ravaisch. From there, the double-decker cable car takes visitors to Alp Trider Sattel and provides access to the cross-border Silvretta Ski Arena. The ski area connects the Swiss Samnaun with the Austrian resort of Ischgl. In summer, Samnaun-Ravaisch also offers a downhill trail for fast descents. Thus, alongside the ski area, there is an explicitly seasonal option for summer.

Hiking and Snowshoeing

The “Ravaischer Salaas – Alptrider Sattel” hiking route starts at the Samnaun-Ravaisch, Dorf stop and passes Piz Ot. At Ravaischer Salaas, at an altitude of 2,597 metres, gypsum formations shape the landscape, making it look like a moonscape.

The “Samnaun-Plan (ST2)” snowshoe trail starts below the Talstrasse near Appartement Tirana. From there, it follows the Schergenbach slightly downhill to Samnaun-Laret. You can take the SamnaunBus back to the starting point. Unlike the hiking route, the snowshoe trail follows the Schergenbach slightly downhill to Samnaun-Laret; you can return to the starting point by SamnaunBus.

Forest Paths and Nature Experiences

The family disc golf course with 18 holes is in the open forest between Samnaun Dorf and Samnaun-Ravaisch. Disc golf facilities in the Samnaun area are freely accessible. The course is open from May to November, provided the ground is free of snow. If you plan this activity, you should therefore consider both the seasonal period and whether the ground is snow-free.

The animal nature trail starts at the valley station of the mountain railways in Samnaun-Ravaisch and leads through a mixed forest to a farm near Kalvarienberg. Twenty informative panels cover animals ranging from marmots to badgers. The Zurich vitaparcours offers another way to experience the forest: the 2.3-kilometre circular route has 15 stations and a total of 43 exercise options. Mobility, strength and endurance exercises alternate; the course is also suitable for walkers.

Cycling and Natural Ice Rink

The Chapel of St. Charles Borromeo in Samnaun-Ravaisch is a sight to see and also the starting point of the “Samnaun-Ravaisch – Chè d’Mot” bike trail. It heads towards Tschischanaderet and returns to Ravaisch via a singletrack. The “Salaaser Kopf [SwitzerlandMobility No. 445]” mountain bike tour starts at the valley station of the mountain railways in Ravaisch. You can reach the “7190 Bergli Trail” by PostBus from the valley station; the trail requires confident bike handling, balance and technical riding skills, and includes a flowy singletrack section. Conditions for mountain bike tours are weather-dependent.

The Clis da Ravaisch natural ice rink is between Samnaun Dorf and Samnaun-Ravaisch. Ice skating, curling and hockey are possible there; equipment and gear can be rented directly at the rink. Seasonal availability may vary, as may the stock available for hire. Check both before planning a visit.

Views and Alpine Flora

The Chè d’Mot viewpoint offers views of the Samnaun mountains, including Stammerjoch, Muttler and Piz Motnair. Marked plant trails above Ravaisch offer a glimpse of the alpine flora. When planning your day, you can choose between a viewpoint with views of named peaks and trails with a botanical focus.
