Looking for a hotel for a trip to Örn? The fjord landscape, cultural history and specific route features give you tangible points of reference when choosing your destination. Choosing a location and deciding on a specific type of accommodation are two separate decisions.

Landscape and cultural heritage

Örn lies in the inner part of the deep and highly indented Örnefjord. Among the region’s few Bronze and Iron Age remains is a stone mound near Örn. The small-scale industrial area Askum 852 offers another connection to the region’s cultural history: it lies partly within the Örn-Knutsvik-Håle cultural landscape and is one of its core values. The stone mound is an archaeological trace, while Askum 852 represents the inclusion of a small-scale industrial area in the context of a cultural landscape.

Routes and navigation

The official digital maps for Soteleden and Kuststigen offer suggested stages and a location function. The suggested stages help you plan section by section; the location function complements them with your own position. This lets you consider two questions separately: Which stage would you like to plan, and where are you?

The 70 km Soteleden passes through the service centre of Örn’s Camping and then continues north through the northern part of the campsite. The 70 km figure refers to the entire Soteleden; the passage through the service centre and northern part of the campsite describes one section of its route. This lets you consider the total length and the specific campsite section separately when planning.

Cycling route #H3 LVG-landsväg

The #H3 LVG-landsväg cycling route passes through Örn and offers views across the Örnefjord. It runs mostly on paved roads with little traffic. It is not signposted on the ground; you should follow the suggested route on a smartphone or bike computer. The road surface and low traffic describe the character of the route; for navigation, you also need to plan to use the digital route. Details may be updated, so check the suggested route before setting out. Compared with Soteleden, the #H3 route’s key features are its views, road surface, traffic conditions and digital navigation; for Soteleden, the total length and route through the campsite are specific points of reference.

Location and accommodation

Örn’s Camping is located between the village of Örn and the ferry terminal for Bohus-Malmön, about 10 km east of Kungshamn. The area is accessible via road 873 and extends west towards the Örnefjord. The approximate ten-kilometre distance places the campsite in relation to Kungshamn; the village of Örn and the ferry terminal describe its location between two points of reference.

If you are considering camping options as well as hotels, Örnefjordens Camping offers accommodation in a hostel, cabin, caravan, motorhome or tent. Availability may change, so check before booking.

Håle bäck

Håle bäck is a protected area for salmon and trout. A survey in September 2018 documented the presence of sea trout there. This nature-related feature thus connects the watercourse’s protected status with a record from a specific point in time.
