Ängelholm combines coastal scenery, nature trails, and themes related to railways, aviation, and local history. If you’re looking for a hotel in Ängelholm, you can plan your stay around your interests: choose between beaches and nature or a range of museum themes.

Coast, Beach and Forest

Ängelholm’s beach stretches for about six kilometres along Skälderviken. The wide sandy beach offers opportunities for swimming and exercise, and is also a destination for families. Just behind the beach lies Kronoskogen, with walking trails, fitness trails, and cycling paths. This lets you choose between the coastal landscape and the forest as different settings for outdoor activities.

The Ängelholms strandskog nature reserve comprises high sand dunes, a long sandy beach, and pine forest. If you’d like to include forest landscapes and dunes as well as the beach, you’ll find several different types of natural scenery here. The reserve’s red circular trail passes through pine forest, spruce forest, and the unique coastal dune landscape.

Routes and Getting There

The red circular trail is seven kilometres long and forms a loop. Another option is the scenic Lergöksrundan: this 16-kilometre cycling route runs through Kronoskogen, along the sea, and onward through Ängelholm’s town centre. The two routes differ in both length and course—from a loop through forest and dunes to a cycling route that takes in the coast and town centre.

The Skåneleden SL1 Kust till kust, Stage 22, also runs through the northern part of Ängelholms strandskog. The stage connects the area with other parts of Ängelholm and north-western Skåne. If you’re interested in regional trails, you can choose between a route within the nature reserve and a stage with a wider regional scope.

There are car parks in the northern and southern parts of the nature reserve. The reserve is also accessible by public transport. Ängelholm railway station is about 1.5 kilometres from the reserve, while the nearest bus stop, Ängelholm Kulltorp, is about one kilometre away. These details offer different points of reference for travelling by car or public transport.

Rönne å offers opportunities for fishing, paddling, and experiencing nature in Ängelholm. This adds activities on the river to the options of beaches, forests, and trails. You can compare your interests as you plan your trip without having to base every activity on the same type of outing.

Museums and Local History

At the Järnvägens Museum, the LOCOMOTION simulator offers two railway scenarios: a journey in a steam locomotive around the turn of the 20th century, or a view from the cab of a modern locomotive. The options range from a historic steam train journey to a modern locomotive cab experience.

The Ängelholms Flygmuseum displays a collection of military aircraft ranging from the J 22 to the JAS 39 Gripen; all of these aircraft served with the wing. The museum was closed for renovations until autumn 2026. Check its current visitor status before your visit.

The Läder och lokalhistoriska museet focuses on Ängelholm’s leather-making heritage. This includes the leather factory at Ängavången and Grönwalls leather factory on Storgatan. This local history perspective takes you from the technical themes of railways and aviation to Ängelholm’s leather industry.
