Fliseryd combines local history with walking trails and nature along the Emån. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, you can consider whether church and local history, woodland trails, nature experiences or fishing should be your focus.

Church and local history

Fliseryd Church was designed by Per Wilhelm Palmroth and inaugurated on October 18, 1818. It is open daily from 08:00 to 15:00. This makes a visit a clear link to a specific historical date, with fixed daily opening hours that you can take into account when planning your day.

In the Middle Ages, Grönskog was an important place with a manor and many dependent farms. This connection goes beyond a single building and offers a glimpse of the place at the time, with its associated farms. Grönskogs gård is preserved in Fliseryd, beside Grönsjön on the road between Fliseryd and Oskarshamn. The church dates back to 1818, while Grönskog’s significance reaches back to the Middle Ages. The historical themes can therefore be distinguished chronologically: the church is associated with its design and inauguration, while Grönskog is associated with the manor and its many dependent farms.

Fliseryd’s local heritage park features QR-based information through the InfoJee app. Patron Gustavs trädgård includes an apple orchard with many different varieties of apples. Alongside the church and medieval connections, the town also has a local heritage park and a garden as distinct points of interest.

Nature and trails along the Emån

Jungnerholmarna is a recreational area inviting visitors to enjoy active outdoor pursuits and immersive nature experiences. It lies in an area of high natural value surrounded by the Emån. The forests around Fliseryd in the Småland region offer beautiful walking trails. The woodland landscape and a recreational area surrounded by the river therefore offer two distinct nature experiences.

Fliserydskvillen is a four-kilometre-long branch of the Emån where you can hike and fish. The trail along Fliserydskvillen is part of the Mönsteråsleden. The four kilometres refer to the branch, not the length of the trail. Fliserydskvillen is also one of the Emån’s most important spawning grounds for salmon and sea trout. This combines recreational opportunities by the water with the waterway’s importance to both fish species.

Accommodation for fishing visitors

The Fliseryds Sportfiskeklubb fishing camp is located on Jungnerholmarna in Fliseryd. The camp includes a newly built, well-equipped communal cabin and four smaller rental accommodations, each with four to five beds. They are intended for fishing visitors and other guests. If one of these accommodations suits your plans, be sure to check availability separately.
