Huskvarna lies on the southern shore of Lake Vättern. The town offers a range of options to help you plan your trip: industrial history, historic sites, circular trails and destinations by the water. You can shape your stay around the things that interest you.

Culture and history in Huskvarna

The Husqvarna Museum presents 400 years of industrial history across 2,400 square metres. The red cottages of Smedbyn offer a different perspective on local history. They were built in the mid-18th century for the blacksmiths who worked here. The listed buildings still stand in their original locations.

Huskvarna kyrka was designed by Birger Damstedt and built in 1907–1908. At Huskvarna kyrkogård, you can join a guided tour and visit graves of cultural and historical interest. In the northern part of the cemetery is Garpa Skans, an archaeological site dating from the 14th century.

The remains of Rumlaborg also tell the story of an earlier era: Albert of Mecklenburg had the site built in the 1360s. What remains is a central area with an irregularly shaped mound, two ramparts and three ditches. The various sites offer different perspectives—from the museum's take on industrial history to archaeological traces and historic architecture.

Circular trails and viewpoints

Pustaleden is a 1.8-kilometre circular trail in central Huskvarna, with an elevation gain of 100 metres. Along the way, the trail passes through lush deciduous forests and by protected beech trees and 300-year-old oaks. The route combines a manageable length with varied woodland scenery.

At 3.9 kilometres, Brunstorpsleden is more than twice as long and also has an elevation gain of 100 metres. The circular trail starts and ends at Brunstorps gård. At the summit of Brunstorpsberget, there are several picnic spots with panoramic views of Lake Vättern. If you are comparing the trails by length, their different distances, despite having the same stated elevation gain, are a useful point of reference.

Brunstorpsleden is accessible by bus route 121, which stops at Huskvarna Brunstorps gård. Timetables may change, so check the connection before you travel. The farm itself is in the Huskvarnabergen nature reserve, in the northern part of Huskvarna, and is open to everyone at all times.

Landscape, water and city park

Huskvarnabergen Nature Reserve brings together natural, geological, cultural and outdoor values. One of its striking landscape features is the Huskvarna Falls: between the heights of Stensholm and Kvarnbron, they descend 120 metres.

Above Huskvarna stadspark, a viewpoint offers views across all of Huskvarna, the southern part of Lake Vättern and parts of Jönköping. The city park has walking paths and a playground. Its facilities also include a park building dating from 1914, with an attached café.

For a walk in town, Huskvarnaåns promenad is another option: the route is five kilometres long. In summer, the bathing area at Oset has a kiosk and kayak rental. Brunstorpsbadet adds a heated outdoor swimming pool, a 50-metre swimming pool, a teaching pool, a paddling pool and a water slide with a splash pool.

Events

Huskvarna Folkets Park has been a venue for music, theatre, festivals and fairs since 1925. On selected Wednesday evenings in summer, it also hosts car meets with hundreds of participating cars. If you want to combine your trip with an event, check the dates in advance: the car meets are seasonal and do not take place every Wednesday evening.
