Benidorm offers several clearly distinct starting points for planning a trip: long sandy beaches, Roman history, festivals and theme parks.

Beaches and accessible beach points

Playa de Levante has more than two kilometres of fine, golden sand. Playa de Poniente is three kilometres long. The descriptions emphasise different features: for Levante, they mention not only its length but also the sand’s colour and texture, while for Poniente, length is the specific point of comparison. You can consider these features separately when including beaches in your travel plans.

Benidorm has three accessible beach points: one at Playa de Levante on C/ Murcia and two at Playa de Poniente, on Av. Mont Benidorm and in Parque de Elche. This means there are named points at both beaches. If facilities and assistance are important for your visit, check the conditions at each point in advance.

Roman history and Casa Museo

The Castellum of Tossal de la Cala is a Roman fortification dating from the 1st century BC. The site has been converted into a museum and provided with six explanatory panels. The texts are in Spanish, Valencian and English. Those interested in Roman history will find an archaeological site with multilingual interpretation here.

Casa Museo L'Hort de Colón offers a different cultural stop. You need to make an appointment in advance for a guided tour. Include this requirement in your day’s plans and arrange the appointment before scheduling the tour.

Festivals and theme parks

Benidorm hosts several festivals throughout the year. Festivals are therefore not limited to a single season. If you want a particular event to determine your travel dates, check its dates and programme, as individual festival programmes may change.

At the Terra Mítica theme park, visitors can discover the ancient civilisations of the Mediterranean. Mundomar is a park with exotic animals, a dolphinarium and spectacular shows. Their focuses differ: Terra Mítica draws on the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean, while Mundomar puts animals and shows centre stage. Rides, shows and facilities at Terra Mítica, as well as animal presentations and facilities at Mundomar, may change. So check the current offering for your specific trip.

Coastal landscape and getting around

The coastal cliffs of Serra Gelada are more than 300 metres high. These striking cliffs offer a different landscape from the sandy beaches.

Llorente Bus serves Benidorm with 18 routes. If you plan to travel by bus, check in advance which route and timetable suit your destinations. Then check the specific details of each hotel offer.
