If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Casarrubuelos, specific local attractions can help you decide what to focus on during your trip. The Green Circuit focuses on outdoor activities, while the Las Cárcavas Municipal Swimming Pool has a 12.5-metre leisure pool. El Mayo and historical landmarks offer further connections to local traditions and the town’s history. This lets you consider in advance whether you would like to associate Casarrubuelos primarily with outdoor activities or cultural attractions.

Get active on the Green Circuit

The Casarrubuelos Green Circuit is a nature-focused outdoor recreation area. It stretches from the municipal padel area to the cedar zone. It includes a cycle lane and an outdoor fitness trail with various exercise machines.

The area also includes a pump track, suitable for non-motorised wheeled equipment such as bicycles, roller skates and skateboards. The fitness trail and pump track cater to different forms of exercise: workouts on equipment on the one hand, and wheeled activities on the other. The cycle lane adds another option.

Near the pump track is a dedicated play area for children and young people of different ages. Before using the facilities, check the condition of the equipment and the conditions at the pump track on site.

Swimming pool and getting there

The Las Cárcavas Municipal Swimming Pool has a 12.5-metre leisure pool with an access ladder. The pool’s dimensions provide a useful point of reference if swimming is part of your stay. For getting there, public transport line 468 serves the Getafe–Griñón/Casarrubuelos/Serranillos route. If you plan to use this service for your trip, check the latest timetable before departure; routes and journey times may change.

El Mayo and historical landmarks

El Mayo is a festival in Casarrubuelos at which the Hermandad de la Veracruz buys a tree trunk and sets it up in the town square for the entire month. The programme for the 2026 Santiago Apóstol festivities included a Mass and a procession in honour of the patron saint; both were among the most representative events of the festivities. If the festivities affect your travel plans, check the dates for your travel period.

A commemorative plaque names Julián Pérez Salas as the maker of the Noria and dates its construction to 1914. The Relaciones de Felipe II of 1578 mention a church. In 1927, a fountain and washhouse with a brick façade was built. The fountain and washhouse is paved with bricks, partly enclosed by side walls, and preserves the character of earlier communal places for washing clothes and using water. The three dates refer to different points of reference: 1578 for the mention of a church, 1914 for the construction of the Noria, and 1927 for the construction of the fountain and washhouse.
