Corbins offers a range of ways to enjoy a stay: walks and wildlife watching by the river, sports activities in La Serreta, and connections to local history and traditions. Depending on your interests, you can make nature, exercise or culture the focus of your plans.

River Landscapes and Nature at Parc del Riu

Parc del Riu is a green space of more than 30,000 m² on the right bank of the Noguera Ribagorçana. It is 50 metres from the town centre and is suitable for peaceful walks and wildlife watching. Athletics, fishing and canoeing are also possible there. The green space therefore combines a peaceful experience of nature with a range of sporting activities.

The Aiguabarreig-Segre Noguera Ribagorçana wetland is part of Catalonia’s PEIN network of protected areas and the Natura 2000 site ES5130020 Aiguabarreig Segre-Noguera Ribagorçana. It includes the course of the Noguera Ribagorçana downstream from Corbins to its confluence with the Segre. Parc del Riu refers to a specific green space on the riverbank; the wetland places this stretch of river within a broader landscape context.

Activities in La Serreta

La Serreta de Corbins Bike Park offers trails and trial tracks for mountain biking and trail running at various difficulty levels. The network includes more than 15 kilometres of prepared, signposted trails and more than ten downhill trial tracks. Mountain biking and trail running are possible year-round. La Serreta therefore offers a different focus from the peaceful walks and wildlife watching at Parc del Riu.

La Serreta can be reached via Parc del Riu. A restored path also leads from La Serreta to the confluence of the Noguera Ribagorçana and the Segre. The route is about 2.5 kilometres long. As trail conditions can change, check them before setting out.

Church, History and Archaeological Finds

The parish church of Sant Jaume dates from 1736 and is designed in the Neoclassical style. A relic of Saint Quiteria, the patron saint of Corbins, is kept in the church. The history of the building and the history of its patron saint come together in one place.

Cal Col·lector is privately owned and stands on the remains of a former Islamic castle, documented since the 10th century. Underground remains, part of a tower and the remains of a secret tunnel have been preserved at the building. El Fossar Vell is a viewpoint overlooking Parc del Riu.

A permanent exhibition in Corbins includes ceramics, coins, votive offerings and other archaeological finds. The bridge of Corbins is also part of the town’s history: the Generalitat de Catalunya rebuilt it in 1933.

Festa de la Poma and Getting There

The Festa de la Poma takes place every year on the first weekend of October and celebrates the end of the fruit harvest. The festivities include a communal cassola lunch, with each group preparing its own cassola. If you are planning your trip around the festival, check the specific event dates in advance.

Corbins is connected by the C-12 road and has three entrances to the town. When looking for a hotel in Corbins, it helps to decide what matters most: would you like to focus your stay on walks and wildlife watching, activities in La Serreta, or local history?
