Vilobí Del Penedès can be explored through a variety of landscapes and themes: trails pass through vineyards and forests, the Parc dels Talls is dotted with small lakes, and historic buildings tell stories of different eras. You can tailor your stay to whether you want to spend most of your time outdoors, discover wine and food culture, or explore architecture and history.

Routes through the landscape and pèlags

The Ronda de Vilobí del Penedès covers the entire municipality, with its vineyards, forests and Parc dels Talls. By contrast, the Ruta circular pel Parc dels Talls passes through the various “pèlags” in the park’s natural surroundings. These offer two different scales: the landscape of the whole municipality and a circular route through the park’s lake landscape.

The Parc dels Talls consists of four small lakes, traditionally called “pèlags.” This distinctive landscape was shaped by many years of mining in Vilobí Del Penedès. The park has various routes for walking, running and cycling. Guided tours led by experts focus on geology, biology or history. If you plan to take a tour, check the dates in advance.

Wine route and culinary character

The Ruta dels cellers leads to five wine and cava cellars and runs between vineyards and farmhouses. The route also allows for a visit to the Parc dels Talls. As you should check whether the cellars are taking part before your trip, it is worth making a quick enquiry if you plan to visit one.

Vilobí Del Penedès’ culinary character includes traditional and Mediterranean cuisine, as well as menus adapted to regional and seasonal produce. The third edition of Vi en Femení offered a specific introduction to wine and regional products: the cultural and food-and-wine event took place on 23 May 2026. At its Mostra Enogastronòmica, cellars, shops and local restaurants offered wine and regional products for tasting. The programme also included the children’s workshop “Tinta i vi,” which used corks for recycling and creative activities.

Architecture and history

The Refugi de la Guerra Civil is a ten-metre-deep, semi-underground tunnel made of brick and cement that leads to a rectangular air-raid shelter. During the Spanish Civil War, it was part of a group of shelters in the area of the former “Camp d'aviació.” The municipal description calls it the best-preserved of the three shelters still in existence.

Santa Maria de Vallformosa is an architectural complex comprising a church, bell tower, bell ringer’s house, rectory and outbuildings. The Capella de Sant Pere combines a simple basic form with a number of distinctive architectural features: it has a rectangular floor plan, a flat-ended chancel, a round-arched stone portal and a small bell gable. Inside, it preserves a Baroque altarpiece dedicated to Saint Andrew, as well as a collection of service books with mother-of-pearl covers.

The landscape itself is also the subject of the permanent exhibition “Les memòries del guix” at the Centre de Benvinguda. It presents how the landscape of Vilobí Del Penedès has developed. In this way, it complements the trails through vineyards, forests and the Parc dels Talls with a perspective on how this landscape came into being and changed over time.

A year-round adventure in the Parc dels Talls

“A la recerca dels Vitis” is designed as a year-round adventure and takes place in Vilobí Del Penedès 365 days a year. The starting point is at the entrance to Pèlag Sec: there, visitors scan a QR code to begin the adventure in the Parc dels Talls. This makes it different from a guided tour focusing on geology, biology or history.
