La Revilla is located in Oyambre Natural Park and brings together nature, architecture and sport. If you are looking for a hotel for your trip, you can first consider whether the landscape and walking trails, local buildings or golf should shape your stay.

Natural Park and Walking Trails

Oyambre Natural Park offers viewpoints, walking trails, birdwatching areas and a visitor centre. Each has a different focus: viewpoints draw your attention to the landscape, walking trails offer an active way to experience nature, and the birdwatching areas are of interest to visitors who want to learn about wildlife. When planning, you can decide how to balance exercise, scenic views and nature watching.

The PRL-49 Ruta de La Revilla route is about 5,175 metres long, is rated easy and runs through Valdáliga and San Vicente. The Oyambre coastal trail, by contrast, begins by following the road from La Revilla over the ridge of a small rise. The two routes therefore offer different points of reference: the PRL-49 has a stated approximate length and difficulty rating, while the coastal trail is characterised by its start over the ridge. Check the local signs for the PRL-49 before setting out. A ridge is an elongated rise in the terrain; its crest is the upper line.

Buildings and History

The Ermita de Santa Marina is a simple rectangular building divided into two equal sections and reinforced on the outside by stepped buttresses. It was restored between 2022 and 2024. Another building is the Parroquia de San Pedro ApĂłstol. Its features include a traditional bell gable, rubble-stone walls and a small atrium.

The architecture can be understood through its specific forms: a bell gable holds the bell in an open space in the gable; rubble-stone masonry is made of irregularly shaped stones. An atrium is a courtyard or forecourt. At the Ermita, by contrast, the key features are its rectangular structure, its division into two sections and its stepped buttresses. The restoration from 2022 to 2024 adds a more recent historical chapter to these architectural features.

Golf and Local Festivities

The Santa Marina golf course in La Revilla was designed by Seve Ballesteros, has 18 holes and is located in Oyambre Natural Park. Golf is therefore a distinct focus alongside the area's walking and nature experiences. The information about the designer and number of holes gives you specific points to consider if you want to include golf in your travel plans.

La Revilla celebrates the recurring Fiestas de San Pedro as a local festival. If you want to plan your trip around the festivities, check the exact dates in advance.
