Valdezorras: Culture, Sport and Local History
Accommodation in Valdezorras
Valdezorras brings together municipal sports and cultural facilities, named access routes and a local festival history. When choosing a hotel, these features can help you consider the area in light of the reason for your stay: are you interested in sport, neighborhood culture, a celebration or getting your bearings in the area?
Sport and Culture
The Centro Deportivo Valdezorras has an artificial-turf football pitch and a pétanque court. These two facilities give the area a distinct sporting character to consider when choosing where to stay.
The Centro CĂvico Entreparques serves the neighborhoods of Valdezorras and El Gordillo and, given its proximity, especially the Pino Montano neighborhood. Workshops, cultural events, exhibitions, neighborhood festivals and other activities are held there. The center thus complements the sports facilities with a cultural and community focus.
Transport and Getting Your Bearings
Following a municipal transport reorganization in 2021, TUSSAM bus line 16 ran between Valdezorras and Plaza JerĂłnimo de CĂłrdoba. If this connection matters to your travel plans, check the current timetable and route before you travel.
Camino de los Rojas offers a different way of getting your bearings from a bus route reference: it is almost three kilometers long and provides access to rural properties and scattered homes in Valdezorras and the relevant urban area. Its function places the route within the rural access network.
A historical official livestock-track entry identifies a 576-meter section of the Cañada Real de Poco Aceite in the area affected by P.P. SUP-3 Valdezorras as Vereda de Poco Aceite. It lies to the right of Carretera de Brenes and to the right of the main road in the Valdezorras neighborhood. The A-8008 is in the area of the Cañada Real de Poco Aceite and runs parallel to the cycle path described there. The length figures refer to different things: almost three kilometers for Camino de los Rojas and 576 meters for the named section of the livestock track.
Festivals and Local History
A report from June 2026 describes the return of the Corpus Christi celebration organized by the parish of Nuestra Señora de las Veredas, with a Eucharistic procession through the streets of Valdezorras. The municipal programs for 2020 and 2023 each announced the Cabalgata de Valdezorras for January 6, with four floats and a start time of 11:30 a.m. In 2023, it was scheduled to end on the esplanade of Parque del Olivo. These examples refer to different periods: the 2026 report describes the celebration’s return, while the Cabalgata details relate to earlier plans. If you would like to plan a trip around a festival, check the dates for the relevant year.
Vistahermosa was once a name for Valdezorras. The Parroquia Nuestra Señora de las Veredas began as a simple parish in 1968. In historical accounts of the 20th century, Valdezorras is also considered an example of a consolidated settlement. This perspective complements the references to the place name and parish with an account of the settlement’s character.
