For a stay in Aguadulce, the coast and its routes are a clear focus. Playa de Aguadulce is a 1,900-meter-long city beach, with a promenade running its entire length. The Paseo Marítimo de Aguadulce is a two-kilometer route for walking, hiking and cycling. It runs continuously along the beach and connects the marina with the town’s main beach. The beach length and route length refer to two different measurements. On a clear day, the view from the promenade extends across Almería Bay and the coast of Roquetas de Mar.

Beach and Seaside Routes

At the beach, there is a designated area adapted for people with reduced mobility. So, if you are choosing where to stay based on the coast, you will find not only the promenade here but also this specifically designated area.

Another route is the Puerta Verde de Roquetas de Mar. It connects Roquetas de Mar with the Urbanización de Aguadulce via the Cañada Real de la Costa and is intended for non-motorized traffic. The route is 1.91 kilometers long; the listed user groups are cyclists, walkers, horse riders and livestock. The Paseo Marítimo is described as a route for walking, hiking and cycling, while horse riders and livestock are also explicitly included on the Puerta Verde. The two routes therefore differ in length and in the uses listed.

From the Puerta Verde viewpoint, you can see the tips of the seagrass meadows that form the Posidonia Reef Natural Monument. Whether the seagrass meadows are visible depends on the weather and sea conditions. The route’s surface and access may also change; check current route and access conditions before your visit.

Marina and Local Life

Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce offers a wide range of water sports activities and a large selection of restaurants. Alongside the beach and promenade, the marina is therefore another point of interest to consider if you would like to include water sports or restaurants in your plans for your stay.

The celebrations in honor of the Virgen del Carmen also feature in the local festival calendar. The patron saint festival is held annually in the first half of July, specifically from July 13 to 16. The procession by sea and land starts at Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce, continues to Puerto Deportivo de Roquetas de Mar and then returns to its starting point. If you want to plan your trip around the festivities, check the dates for your travel year.

The festival program from July 14 to 16, 2026, included children’s events, workshops and beach sports such as beach soccer, beach tennis and beach volleyball. These events were part of the past 2026 festival program.

Local Heritage and Green Spaces

Fuente de Aguadulce is part of the local ethnological heritage and is associated with the spring that gave the town its name. No water flows from the present-day Fuente. This makes it a different kind of place to visit from the coastal routes: the focus here is on the local connection between a place and its name.

Parque Público Municipal Andrés Segovia is located in the center of Aguadulce. The site, which covers about two hectares, has two children’s play areas and a walking path. Along with the beach, promenade and routes in the surrounding area, the park is another public place to consider as you explore the town.
