Discover San Martín Department
Accommodation in San Martín Department
San Martín Department can be explored through a wide range of travel interests: motorsport, local festival culture, historic buildings, museums, and a park with areas for day visits and camping. If you’re looking for a hotel for your stay, you can start by considering which of these interests will shape your trip most.
Motorsport and Festival Culture
The Autódromo Parque de la Velocidad of Club San Jorge is a nationally recognized racetrack and a venue for speed races, TC 2000, and Turismo Nacional. It is also considered a symbol of San Jorge’s cultural heritage and an icon of the region. The track therefore combines a clear connection to motorsport with cultural significance for the town and the region.
San Martín de las Escobas is considered the home of the Fiesta Provincial del Gaucho. The festival has cultural significance for the town, both in the region and in Argentina. Travelers interested in this destination will find a different focus here than at the Autódromo: Gaucho tradition and its importance to the town’s local character.
History and Museums in El Trébol
The Museo de la Moto “Historias sobre ruedas” is located in the former train station in El Trébol. Its exhibits focus on motorcycles and other historical two-wheeled artifacts, advertising materials, and related objects. The former station setting and the two-wheeled exhibits give this museum a different historical connection from the city’s Museo Municipal.
The Teatro Cervantes was inaugurated in 1911 by the Sociedad Española and has belonged to the city administration since the 1990s. It is considered El Trébol’s most significant local cultural heritage site and is a regular venue for artistic, educational, and social activities. Its history therefore encompasses both its inauguration by the Sociedad Española and its later ownership by the city.
The Museo Municipal El Trébol also preserves the city’s historic collections and objects as part of its cultural heritage. The city’s oldest building was once a train station before being converted into the Museo Municipal. The museum was founded on June 10, 1993, by Ordinance No. 203 and remains open today. The former train station brings local history and the museum’s role together in one building.
Green Space and Railway History
In Los Cardos, Parque del Club Unión has large native trees and areas for day visits and camping. Alongside the museums and historic buildings, it offers a green space with practical amenities. The areas for day visits and camping provide different ways to enjoy the park.
Cañada Rosquín developed in connection with the arrival of the railway and the construction of a train station in 1891. The station was inaugurated on November 15, 1891, along with the opening of the Rosario–Sastre section of the railway line. Cañada Rosquín is also home to a cultural space dedicated to León Gieco, where his life is on display. The town’s history thus brings together its railway connection and a distinctive cultural link to León Gieco.
These destinations offer different points of interest: motorsport around the Autódromo, local and theater history in El Trébol, and green space and camping in Los Cardos.
