Puerto Bossetti is an important consideration when planning a trip, particularly because of its connection to Salto Yasy. The town also has a small church and a central square. If you are looking for a hotel in Puerto Bossetti, it helps to distinguish local attractions from other destinations in the Department of IguazĂș. This lets you first decide whether your stay will focus mainly on Salto Yasy or on nature experiences throughout the department.

Salto Yasy and the landscape

Approximately 4,450 meters of the final stretch of Arroyo Yasy, up to its confluence with the RĂo ParanĂĄ, are protected by the native forests of the Salto Yasy area. Salto Yasy is on private property in Puerto Bossetti and within a nature reserve surrounded by Selva Paranaense. If you are planning a visit to the waterfall, check access arrangements in advance.

Experiences around Puerto Bossetti

Yasy Jump is an accommodation-related experience that starts at the port of Posada Bemberg. This nautical activity travels 13 kilometers upriver to the mouth of Salto Yasy, followed by a 500-meter walk through the Misiones jungle to the waterfall. Check in advance whether the offering is available during your stay.

The trek to Salto Urugua-Ă or La Olla follows a different itinerary: it includes a visit to Puerto Bossetti before continuing to one of the two destinations. The key to choosing between the options is whether you want to plan a river journey followed by a walk, or a trek that includes a visit to the town. Check availability here too before making plans around it.

Nature experiences in the Department of IguazĂș

Parque Nacional IguazĂș is located in the Department of IguazĂș. The national park was established in 1934 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. Its trails vary in length and terrain: Paseo Superior is a 1,850-meter one-way circuit on stair-free walkways and is accessible to all visitor groups. Paseo Inferior is 1,750 meters long and runs along walkways with stairs beside the falls of the RĂo IguazĂș, bringing you close to the cascading water. Garganta del Diablo is reached by a 1,100-meter stair-free walkway above the upper riverbed of the RĂo IguazĂș.

Sendero Macuco is a seven-kilometer round-trip trail where you can watch birds and explore the Selva. The Tren EcolĂłgico de la Selva runs from EstaciĂłn Central to the Cataratas and Garganta stations. On the Paseo EcolĂłgico, you can take a rowing boat from the Garganta del Diablo station to explore the islands in the upper RĂo IguazĂș. Parque Nacional IguazĂș therefore offers a range of trails and activities.

For a cycling trip, Camino del YaguaretĂ© is another option in the national park: this moderately challenging route leads to the upper RĂo IguazĂș and Puerto Canoas. Bicycles, helmets, and gloves are included. The tour is suitable for people aged ten and over, requires advance booking, and has limited spaces. Check booking and weather conditions before making plans.
