Lagoon Landscapes and Nature

The Reserva Natural Laguna Salada Grande is located in the Talares de Madariaga, on the shore of Laguna La Salada Grande. It is part of the La Salada wetland complex, a region of fields and lagoons covering approximately 600 km². The protected area preserves a section of the original Pagos del Tuyú landscape and protects the native Espinal. It offers an important setting for birdwatching and ecotourism.

Rural Culture and Outdoor Experiences

The historic Puesto La Invernada on Ruta 74, km 5.5, was an outpost of Estancia Juancho Viejo and offers a glimpse into the region’s rural past. Fee-based sulky rides and horseback rides are available there Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; advance reservations are required. Check current availability before traveling.

The Sendero Talares de Lomada is also located on the municipal grounds of Puesto La Invernada. The trail can be walked with a park ranger. Along the way, you can observe natural processes, the history, and the ecological role of individual species. This nature experience also introduces the area’s landscapes and ecological themes.

The Recorridos Rurales follow scenic country roads to various places in the Partido, including shops, bars, railway stations, and lagoons. The focus is on experiencing rural culture. At Laguna Salada Grande, Club de Pesca y Náutica General Madariaga offers fishing and water sports. The club’s recreation area also includes camping, barbecue facilities, and children’s play areas. Check current operating details and availability before visiting.
