Discover Mielno: beach, promenade and coastal forest
Accommodation in Mielno
Mielno appeals to visitors with different interests: a walk with sea views, a nature trail through ancient dunes in the coastal forest, or a sightseeing cruise on the lake. There is also a beach considered to be supervised by lifeguards, as well as historic landmarks in town. If you are considering Mielno for a hotel stay, these differences can help you assess the destination in light of your interests. At Promenada Przyjaźni, the sea views and the connection to Unieście take centre stage; Leśna Pętla Przygód i Tajemnic winds through forest and dunes. A sightseeing boat trip adds a lake perspective to the routes on land.
Sea views along Promenada Przyjaźni
Mieleńska Promenada Przyjaźni is about two kilometres long and connects Mielno with Unieście. It is used for walking and offers views of the sea. This gives you two practical points of reference when choosing a route: its approximate length and the route between the two towns. The promenade was established in 1908. This date adds a historical point of reference to the route information. Unlike the nature trail that passes through ancient dunes, Promenada Przyjaźni is the option for a walk with sea views.
Forest and dunes on Leśna Pętla
For a different landscape, consider Leśna Pętla Przygód i Tajemnic. The nature trail winds through ancient dunes in a distinctive coastal forest and lies within the “Koszaliński Pas Nadmorski” protected landscape area. Here, forest and dunes shape the route, rather than the sea views found along the promenade. The landscape is complemented by a footbridge, a viewing terrace and two newly built casings for bunkers from the Second World War. The trail can be accessed from ul. 1 Maja or ul. Kościelna. Leśna Pętla also follows the Velo Baltica cycling route. When choosing between the routes, the promenade is all about sea views, while Leśna Pętla offers dunes, coastal forest and a connection to the Velo Baltica cycling route.
Beach and lake excursion
Mielno’s beach is considered to be supervised by lifeguards. The “Mila” sightseeing boat departs from the KM “Tramp” marina for cruises on the lake. If you are planning a trip, check the timetable in advance. The beach and the cruise offer different experiences: time by the coast or a trip on the lake. You can choose between them according to the activities that interest you in Mielno.
A historical note
The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord was built in the 15th century. Promenada Przyjaźni, established in 1908, offers a later historical point of reference. Together, the church and the promenade represent different aspects of the town’s history. If you also want to include history in your travel plans, the church broadens your options beyond the beach and nature trail.
