Gryfino can be explored through its architectural history, trails and leisure facilities. Cultural highlights include a late Romanesque-Gothic parish church, a surviving town gate and a section of the town wall. There are also hiking trails, cycling routes, a park and Aquapark Laguna. When searching for a hotel in Gryfino, you can start by considering which of these themes you would like to shape your stay.

Culture and Architectural History

Construction of the parish church Kościół p.w. Narodzenia Najświętszej Maryi Panny began in 1278. It is late Romanesque-Gothic in style. The church houses organs by Barnim Grüneberg with 30 stops, two manuals and a pedal. Choral concerts and the regular Gryfińskie Koncerty Organowe take place there. If a concert is important to your travel plans, check the current dates before your trip.

Brama Bańska is the only surviving one of Gryfino’s three town gates; it was built in the 14th century. One section of the Mury obronne is particularly well preserved: it is about 70 metres long and 4 metres high. The town gate and the wall offer different insights into Gryfino’s architectural history. The approximate dimensions of the wall section give a concrete sense of its extent.

Further cultural highlights include the Lapidarium in the municipal cemetery and Pałacyk pod Lwami. The Lapidarium displays tombstones from a former German cemetery and other cemeteries in the municipality. Pałacyk pod Lwami is a villa dating from the late 19th century, with two stone lions at the entrance. The two places offer different points of interest: the Lapidarium focuses on tombstones, while the villa stands out for its architecture and the lions at the entrance.

Compare Hiking and Cycling Routes

Two hiking routes with different courses and lengths are listed within the municipality. The red Nadodrzański hiking trail runs through Stare Brynki, Gryfino, Dolna Odra and Nowe Czarnowo, covering 31.45 kilometres within the municipality. The green Woja Żelisława runs through Żelisławiec, Wełtyń and Gryfino; its length within the municipality is 21.52 kilometres. The distance figures make it possible to compare the stated route lengths directly, while the places listed distinguish the routes from one another.

There are also various points of reference for cycling tours. A cycling path runs along the entire length of Nabrzeże Miejskie. Blue Velo No. 3 starts a few dozen metres from the Centrum Informacji Turystycznej in Gryfino and continues south through the town towards Trzcińsko-Zdrój. This gives you a choice between a cycling path along the riverbank and a route heading south.

Park, Views and the Oder Riverbank

Park Miejski im. Stanisławy Siarkiewicz is in central Gryfino and covers 6.02 hectares. Another viewpoint is Górka Miłości, which looks out over Gryfino and Międzyodrze. The revitalised network of paths includes a viewing point, benches and other leisure facilities. This makes the centrally located city park and the viewpoint, with its paths and seating, two different options for a break.

Nabrzeże Miejskie is Gryfino’s riverside area for recreation and tourism, on the right bank of the Oder Wschodnia. In addition to the cycling path running along its entire length, the riverbank is connected to the ports and marinas of the Zachodniopomorski Szlak Żeglarski. This network links West Pomerania’s tourist ports along the Oder, the Szczecin Lagoon and the Baltic coast with German waterways.

Water and Wellness Facilities

The leisure area at Aquapark Laguna includes a wave pool, an artificial wild river, massage pools, whirlpools, water slides and a children’s pool. Facilities also include a salt graduation tower, a dry sauna, an infrared sauna, a steam room, a massage room and a salt room. This means you can enjoy both water attractions and a range of wellness facilities in one place. Together with its architecture, trails, park and riverbank, Gryfino offers several specific themes to help you plan your trip.
