Stare Kaleńsko: Hotels, Swimming Area and Cycling Routes
Accommodation in Stare Kaleńsko
Stare Kaleńsko combines accommodation in a forest beside Lake Kaleńsko with several cycling routes described through the village and its wider surroundings. When planning your trip, take a closer look at the season of the Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji “Stare Kaleńsko” and at the differences between the routes: from the circular route starting in Złocieniec to the longer, unmarked route around Lake Drawsko.
Accommodation at OSiR Stare Kaleńsko
The Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji “Stare Kaleńsko” is located in the forest beside Lake Kaleńsko. It offers 80 to 110 overnight places in the main building and a further 120 places in holiday cottages. These figures distinguish between two types of accommodation; they do not describe hotel rooms. As capacities may change, confirm the current number of places and accommodation availability with the operator before booking.
OSiR is open seasonally from April to October. Outside this period, it also operates for organized groups. If you are planning a group stay outside the season, coordinate with the operator in advance. This allows you to take the seasonal opening rule into account when choosing dates without treating the group arrangement as general opening.
Swimming area and facilities for guests
During the 2026 bathing season, there will be a swimming area on the OSiR grounds at Lake Kaleńskie. OSiR guests also have access to a supervised swimming area, mini golf, a sauna, and rentals of water sports equipment and touring bikes. These facilities and rental services are for accommodation guests. Before booking, confirm with the operator which offers are currently available.
Guest facilities also include sports courts, a fitness room, billiards, and an airgun shooting range. The options described can therefore be distinguished by interest: swimming and water sports are available alongside sports facilities and recreational activities. If you plan to use any of these during your stay, check directly with OSiR to confirm current availability.
Cycling routes through Stare Kaleńsko and around Lake Drawsko
The red “Drawa” circular cycling route is 60.7 km long. It starts and ends in Złocieniec and passes through Bobrowo, Kaleńsko Górne, Nowe Kaleńsko, Stare Kaleńsko, Wrzoski, and Siemczyno. For a bike ride on a loop with set start and end points, this description offers a different option from the longer loop around Lake Drawsko. The route information dates from 2019; check current route conditions before setting out.
The walking and cycling route around Lake Drawsko is approximately 46 km long and is unmarked. It connects existing walking and cycling paths, starts and ends in Czaplinek, and passes, among other places, through Kołomąt, Stare Drawsko, Kuźnica Drawska, Kluczewo, Bolegorzyn, Warniłęg, Rzepowo, Głęboczek, Siemczyno, Żelisławie, and Stare Kaleńsko. As this route is unmarked, plan your route in advance.
A paved path also leads from Żelisławie through Stare Kaleńsko and past the holiday center. After about 4 km, it reaches a railway crossing; beyond it, Lake Krzemno, known for its lobelia, can be seen on the left. The path connects a route through the village with a named natural landmark. The distance of about 4 km is approximate.

In the wider area, two circular cycling routes start and end at the market square in Czaplinek: the black “Lobeliowe jeziora” loop, 33.3 km long, and the green “Dobrzyca” loop, 45.1 km long. From Czaplinek, the boundary erratic boulder Głaz Graniczny can also be reached via the black “Lobeliowe Jeziora” cycling route; a signposted path leads 70 m from the route to the boulder. Before your trip, check whether the signposting is still in place.
