Sieniawa brings together several themes for a trip: the palace and park complex, the history of the parish church and the Jewish cemetery, and a circular Nordic walking route. If you are looking for a hotel in Sieniawa, you can first decide whether historical sites or a particular route should shape your stay.

Palace and park complex

Sieniawa’s palace and park complex includes a brick palace built between 1720 and 1726 and a romantic park. The palace was a former residence of the Czartoryski family. The construction dates and former function provide two historical points of reference: the dates place the building in time, while the history of the residence identifies its former connection to the family. Alongside the dated palace, the romantic park gives the complex a different, landscape-focused emphasis.

The garden in Sieniawa is distinguished by an effective garden composition, old trees and numerous sightlines. A sightline is a directed visual connection; together with the composition, it shapes how the garden is perceived. The focus here is therefore on design and views rather than on a construction date.

Parish church and crypt

The Dominican Observant monastery complex was built between 1719 and 1751. It was destroyed during the First World War and rebuilt between 1918 and 1923; today it serves as a Roman Catholic parish. Its construction, destruction and reconstruction mark clearly distinct periods in its history, while its parish function describes the complex’s present-day use. The remains of 22 members of the princely Czartoryski family rest in the crypt in the southern part of the parish church. The crypt thus adds a dynastic dimension alongside the complex’s construction and use history.

Jewish cemetery

The Jewish cemetery was established in the second half of the 17th century. Around 700 tombstones bearing Hebrew inscriptions have been preserved on the 0.9-hectare site. In chronological terms, the cemetery predates the construction phases of the palace and park complex and the monastery complex: it was established in the second half of the 17th century, while the construction dates mentioned fall in the 18th century. For planning your visit, access arrangements are important: the cemetery is not open at all times, and a resident of Sieniawa has the gate key. Arrange access in advance.

Nordic walking circular route

The green Nordic walking route No. 19 in Sieniawa is a 5.8-kilometre circular route that starts at the Zespół Szkół school. The distance indicates the length of the circuit; as a circular route, it is laid out differently from a path leading to a single destination. For planning your time, you can compare the distance with your own walking pace. The school starting point gives you a specific landmark. The green marking and number 19 help identify the chosen route clearly. If needed, check the local signage before setting off.
