Accommodation in Narol
Narol combines historic buildings with cultural events and routes for active outings. The churches differ in their construction dates and histories: the foundation of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Łosiów family crypt are specific points of interest. The Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God replaced an earlier building; concerts and events have also taken place there. A yellow hiking trail and red cycling route No. 2 offer further ideas for planning your trip. In Narol, history, culture and activity are distinct travel interests that sit side by side.
Churches and architectural history
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Narol was built between 1790 and 1804. Feliks Antoni Łoś founded the church; the Łosiów family crypt is located inside. Both the specific construction period and the foundation and family crypt are relevant to the building’s history. The crypt is a distinct historical point of interest within this church.
The present-day Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God in Narol was built in 1899, replacing an earlier church dating from 1711. The two dates refer to different buildings: 1711 marks the earlier church, while 1899 marks the present-day building. This distinction in dates helps to differentiate clearly between the histories of Narol’s two churches.
The Łosiów Palace lies north of Narol. This Baroque building has a horseshoe-like shape that refers to the Łoś family coat of arms. This distinctive architectural feature complements the churches and their different building histories.
Cultural events
Cultural events such as Majówka, the Cesarsko-Królewski Jarmark Galicyjski and Christmas markets take place in Narol’s market square. If you are planning your trip around one of these events, check the specific dates.
Concerts and events organised by the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury w Narolu have also taken place in the Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God, including “Narolskie spotkania”. Together with the events in the market square, these examples show the different settings for cultural life in Narol.
On foot or by bike
The yellow hiking trail is about 10 km long and takes two to three hours to walk. The route starts in Narol. Together, the distance and walking time offer a practical guide for planning your time: you can assess the hike both by its length and by the estimated time on foot.
The red cycling route No. 2 is about 19 km long. It leads from the castle in Narol through Kadłubiska, Podlesina, Chyże, the Minokąt nature reserve, Lipie and Lipsko, before returning to Narol. The route description thus connects the starting and return point with several named places along the way.
The two routes differ in mode of travel and distance: at about 10 km, the yellow hiking trail is shorter than the cycling route, which is around 19 km; a walking time of two to three hours is also given for the hike. Check local trail conditions before setting out on foot or by bike.
