Historic Buildings and Their Dates
The old parish house on Centralna Street is protected by law and listed in the voivodeship heritage register under number 741/66. Construction began on 24 April 1811.
The old school building was built in 1878 as the village’s first brick school. The second floor contains a conference room with its original half-timbered masonry preserved. The brick chapel of St John is also among the historic buildings: it stands on Szkolna Street and dates from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
The cemetery by the historic parish house features a sculptural group with a cross depicting the Passion of Christ from 1853, a statue of a saint from 1876, and statues of the Virgin Mary with the Child from 1878.
Natural Monument and Leisure Activities
A small-leaved lime tree (Tilia cordata), over 100 years old, also grows in the cemetery in Połomia. Its trunk circumference is 680 centimetres, and it is registered as a natural monument.
The indoor swimming pool in Połomia has a small children’s pool, a full-size pool and two saunas. It operates seven days a week and offers aqua aerobics and swimming lessons. Opening and class times may change, so check the current schedule before your visit. Regular competitive sports add a different dimension: UMKS Delfin regularly holds swimming and running competitions in Połomia. Cycling: Comparing Two Routes
The black cycling route is 18.5 kilometres long and runs from Mszana through Połomia to Gogołowa. It is suitable for all types of bicycle. You can leave your car in the car park by the OSP in Połomia; as parking regulations may change, check the situation before your ride.
The red cycling route in the Mszana municipality is 24 kilometres long and also passes through Połomia. By distance, it is 5.5 kilometres longer than the black route. Its described course also differs: Mszana and Gogołowa are named as the endpoints of the black route, while the red route is described by its length, its course through Połomia and its location in the Mszana municipality. This lets you choose initially based on distance and the described route, without reducing the two routes to just one type of cycling experience.
