Hażlach offers several specific themes to consider when planning your trip: an educational trail, historic landmarks, multimedia exhibitions and recreational activities at the Dom Przyrodnika grounds. These highlights have different focuses. When looking for a hotel, you can first consider whether local history, nature or physical activity will shape your stay most.

Orientation and travel information

On the “Źródełko Borgońka” educational trail, information boards along the route and a special brochure from the Ustroń Forest District provide guidance. The boards and brochure complement each other as two forms of wayfinding: one along the route, the other as a separate printed resource.

The tourist information office in Hażlach is located at the Dom Przyrodnika, ul. Główna 2, and offers brochures, leaflets and maps covering nearby attractions and events. The materials therefore cover not just one trail, but also destinations and events in the surrounding area. This distinction is particularly useful if you want to plan beyond the educational trail.

Church, bell and remembrance

Construction of the present-day brick church in Hażlach began on 13 June 1904 and was completed in 1905. A Gothic bell dated 1409 has been preserved in the Church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle. The dates mark different things: 1409 refers to the bell, while 1904 and 1905 refer to the construction of the present-day church. This clearly distinguishes the age of the individual object from the origins of the present-day building.

Another historic landmark stands in the Catholic cemetery in Hażlach, on ul. Kościelna: a stone cross commemorating victims of the war at the beginning of the 20th century. This memorial adds a different theme to the church’s history and the older bell. Its location in the cemetery also clearly distinguishes it from the church objects.

Exhibitions at the Dom Przyrodnika

The Dom Przyrodnika in Hażlach houses exhibitions on the first floor and mezzanine. They make extensive use of multimedia presentation methods. This gives them a different focus from the historic objects: the emphasis is on multimedia interpretation across two levels of the building. When planning your visit, you can consider this exhibition aspect separately from the history of the building and memorials.

Nature and activities

The Natura 2000 protected area in the Upper Vistula Valley includes small adjoining parts of Hażlach. This extent is important for understanding the geography: the protected area covers small adjacent sections, not the entire locality. A sensory garden has also been created in the northwestern part of the Dom Przyrodnika grounds.

The pump track courses on the Dom Przyrodnika grounds are closed circuits that can be ridden in both directions. The children’s course is 37 metres long. These details describe different features: the length refers to the children’s course, while the circuit layout and riding directions characterize the pump track courses. This lets you consider course length and layout separately when planning your trip.
