Gorzów Śląski combines distinctive buildings with a range of leisure and sports facilities. Its churches, the manor house at Złota 1 and the historic buildings around the market square form a notable architectural ensemble. The sports facilities and the Prosna River within the municipality offer other points of interest. If you are looking for a hotel, you can first decide whether architectural history, sport or the landscape will shape your trip.

Churches and Architecture

The Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity (Kościół pw. Trójcy Świętej) is neo-Gothic and built on a cruciform plan. Its tall tower rises above Gorzów Śląski. The floor plan is another striking feature: the cross shape is part of the church’s design.

Another historic feature is the bell of St John the Baptist, dating from 1711. It hangs in the bell tower or on the church grounds. The Evangelical Church of the Cross of Jesus (Krzyża Jezusowego) is also neo-Gothic and dates from the beginning of the second half of the 19th century. Both churches share the neo-Gothic style; the Evangelical church also has a recorded date of construction.

Manor House and Market Square

The manor house at Złota 1 dates from 1725 to 1775. It is Baroque, built of brick, and listed in both the register of monuments and the list of historic monuments. The Baroque architecture of the manor house and the churches’ neo-Gothic style represent different architectural forms. The historic buildings around the market square are also valuable and complement these architectural landmarks.

Leisure and Sport

The Zielona Sala Gimnastyczna leisure complex includes a skate park by the central PKS bus stop on ul. Chopina. The complex also has a volleyball court, a small football pitch and a basketball court; in winter, the basketball court is used as an ice rink. The skate park features rails, ramps and platforms. Nearby, there is a table for table tennis, as well as facilities for chess and draughts. Ball games, skate features and other leisure activities are all available side by side.

Built by the Gorzów Śląski municipality, the sports complex includes an event and sports hall, Orlik pitches and a beach volleyball court. The event hall at ul. Byczyńska 13 has a permanent spectator stand with 300 seats. Alongside sports facilities, the hall—with its specified spectator capacity—offers a distinct feature of the area.

Prosna River and Exhibition

The Prosna River runs along the edge of the town and has long served as a natural boundary. Within the municipality of Gorzów Śląski, it flows as a relatively small tributary of the Warta and is suitable for fishing and canoeing in spring and summer. River activities are therefore available within the municipality, while its role as a natural boundary refers to the edge of the town.

The “Kredens” gallery features an exhibition about the “Jedzie pociąg z daleka…” project. It includes a large-scale replica of the Paulinka locomotive and photographs documenting the history of railway line 196. Exhibitions may change. If you are planning to visit specifically for this project, check in advance whether it is currently on display.
