Radziejowice combines the history of its castle and park with an exhibition dedicated to Józef Chełmoński and an annual festival held in July. This gives you different reasons to visit: you can focus on the history of the buildings and their owners, make the landscape park the centre of your visit, or plan around a cultural event. These themes span different periods—from the castle’s construction in the early 17th century and the park’s design from 1817 to the exhibition and festival. When planning your stay, you can first decide whether history, natural monuments, art or events will be the main draw.

Castle and Park in Radziejowice

The Baroque castle was built by Stanisław Radziejowski in the early 17th century; towards the end of the 18th century, Kazimierz Krasiński had it extensively remodelled. The two phases are far apart in time and mark different periods in the building’s history. The castle and park complex first belonged to the Radziejowski family and later to the Prażmowski, Ossoliński and Krasiński families. The building’s history and sequence of owners thus offer two different ways of exploring the complex’s past.

The 26-hectare park in Radziejowice was laid out as an English landscape park from 1817 onwards. It contains a lime-tree avenue listed as a natural monument, an ash-tree avenue also listed as a natural monument, and a ginkgo tree. The park’s design and its notable plants offer different points of interest: you can place the park in its historical context or focus on the two protected avenues and the ginkgo. Both avenues are listed as natural monuments; the ginkgo is another notable feature of the park.

Exhibition and Festival

A permanent monographic exhibition dedicated to Józef Chełmoński has been on display in the castle since 2012. It includes the artist’s works, personal mementos and photographs. Its monographic focus brings attention to one artist; artworks, personal mementos and visual material form distinct parts of the exhibition. If art is important to your trip, the exhibition offers a clearly defined point of interest within the history of the castle.

The Letni Festiwal im. Jerzego Waldorffa has been held every July since 2009 at the Dom Pracy Twórczej in Radziejowice. The festival includes concerts and performances. Unlike the permanent exhibition, the festival takes place in a specific month—a practical distinction if you are planning your stay around a cultural event. Before travelling for the festival, check the specific event dates so you can plan around the date you want to attend.

A Cultural Venue Nearby

The Muzeum Lwowa i Kresów is located near Radziejowice, in Kuklówka Radziejowicka. It is housed in a faithfully recreated copy of a manor house dating from 1827. The museum therefore has its own location outside Radziejowice and a different architectural setting from the castle. When exploring the area’s cultural attractions, you can distinguish this location from the castle and park sites in Radziejowice.

Another notable site in Radziejowice is the parish church of św. Kazimierza Królewicza. On 24 October 2025, it was reported that renovation work on its foundations, façades and bell tower had been completed. These completed works add a more recent architectural point of interest to the older stories of the castle and park.
