Discover Obrocz
Accommodation in Obrocz
Obrocz is an interesting place to visit if you want to include routes in the Roztocze region in your plans: a blue-marked trail leads here, the first stage of the Wieprz water route starts here, and two cycling routes meet in the village. There is also a spring that feeds the Wieprz, and Obrocz is included in a wildlife protection zone. When choosing a hotel in Obrocz, it helps to first decide which route and timeframe will shape your stay.
The Centralny szlak Roztocza and choosing a stage
The blue-marked Centralny szlak Roztocza runs from Bełżec to Szastarka, is 143 kilometers long, and crosses the entire Polish Roztocze region. In the Wieprz Valley, it passes Zalew Rudka and continues to Obrocz. This links the village to a specifically identified trail section as well as to a longer regional route. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing between Obrocz as a destination and stages located farther afield.
In the wider regional area, two stages of different lengths on the Centralny szlak Roztocza begin in Zwierzyniec. The difficult section to Szperówka, rich in natural features, is over 27 kilometers long and takes about eight hours. The stage from Zwierzyniec to Potok Senderki is 13 kilometers long and takes about five hours. These details allow you to compare the routes directly by distance and approximate time required: the section to Szperówka is longer and rated as difficult. Both stages start in Zwierzyniec and end at different destinations, complementing the picture of the route that runs to Obrocz. Check the current route before setting out on a specific hike.
Water route and cycling connections
The Wieprz water route also offers a distinct timeframe. Its first stage runs from Obrocz to Zalew Rudka in Zwierzyniec and takes about two hours. The start is in Obrocz and the destination is Zwierzyniec. Compared with the longer hiking stages, this can be planned as a standalone section; the different destinations help you distinguish the routes when planning your trip.
The 8.2-kilometer Traktem Ordynackim cycling route runs entirely along county road 3255L. It extends the cycling route of Zamość Municipality from the junction in Wólka Wieprzecka toward Zwierzyniec and continues to Obrocz. At the junction in Obrocz, it connects with the blue-marked Roztoczański cycling route. This runs from Zwierzyniec via Krasnobród to Majdan Sopocki. For orientation, both the length and road alignment of Traktem Ordynackim are specified, as is its connection to a second cycling route. The cycling routes offer a different route context from the hiking trail or the water route stage.
Spring and protected area
Obrocz is known for a spring that feeds the Wieprz. In addition, a 2,118.98-hectare wildlife protection zone was established in the buffer zone of Roztoczański National Park to protect animals; it also includes Obrocz. These two features link the village to the river and to wildlife conservation. Together with the routes, they make this a destination whose natural character can be explored in different ways: through a spring, an extensive protection zone, and hiking, water, and cycling routes. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, you can base your choice on the route and timeframe that are central to your trip.
