Culture and Architectural History in Łuków
The Muzeum Ziemi Łukowskiej im. Longina Kowalczyka in Łuków municipality has collections on traditional rural weaving and tools for processing flax. These are complemented by folk sculpture, paper cut-outs and folk painting, as well as agricultural equipment dating from around the turn of the 20th century. Paintings by Józef Pankiewicz and Leon Wyczółkowski, historical exhibits and photographic documentation of immovable monuments complete the collection. Together, these themes span traditional crafts and rural life to art and documented architectural history.
The former Bernardine monastery complex in Łuków municipality was built intermittently from 1655 to 1770. It comprises a single-nave, twin-towered monastery church, now used as a parish church, a bell tower and the former monastery building, which is now used as a school. The complex thus combines historic architectural forms with the buildings’ present-day functions.

The Łukowski Ośrodek Kultury also stages theatre performances for children and young people. Exhibitions and individual programmes may change; if you are planning to attend a particular exhibition or performance, check the current schedule.
