Brójce can be understood through specific cultural points of reference: the municipal Gminny Ośrodek Kultury (GOK), the Biblioteka Publiczna and musical activities in the municipality. When planning your trip, it makes a difference whether you are planning a library visit, are interested in the municipality’s cultural life, or would like to take part in music yourself. These areas of interest raise different questions about location, timing and how to participate.

GOK and Library in Brójce

The Gminny Ośrodek Kultury is a municipal cultural institution in Brójce, located at Brójce 39 B, 95-006 Brójce. The GOK comprises the Dom Kultury in Brójce and the Biblioteka Publiczna in Brójce. The cultural centre and the library are therefore distinct components of the same municipal institution. The opening hours for visitors apply to the Biblioteka Publiczna.

Opening Hours and Library Catalogue

Since 1 January 2026, the Biblioteka Publiczna has been open five days a week. Check the hours before your visit:

  • Monday: 11:00 am–7:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00 am–4:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 11:00 am–7:00 pm
  • Thursday: 10:00 am–4:00 pm
  • Friday: 11:00 am–5:00 pm

The online catalogue of the collections is available through the MAK+ library system. If you are visiting with a specific reading interest, you can start your research before your visit and tailor your library visit to your interests.

A Municipal Event in Bukowiec

Community life is another point of reference. On 4 October 2025, the 18th edition of “Dzień Ziemniaka” took place in Bukowiec. The event is located at the municipal level and in Bukowiec, while the institutions mentioned above are located in Brójce. This distinguishes a municipal event in Bukowiec from the institutions in Brójce.

Music: Participation and Singing

For active participation in music, there is the Orkiestra Dęta OSP Kurowice. It welcomes new members, including beginners and experienced musicians. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the GOK in Brójce. The programme includes lessons on wind instruments and musical development under the guidance of an experienced bandmaster. This is about participating in an ensemble, not a general visitor activity. If you are considering joining, check the participation and rehearsal details directly in advance.

The Bukowianki singing group offers a different musical facet. It was founded in 2005 on the initiative of the Koło Gospodyń Wiejskich in Bukowiec, performs folk and Biesiada songs, and is affiliated with the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury of the Gmina Brójce. The groups therefore have different profiles: the Orkiestra focuses on wind instruments, rehearsals and musical development, while Bukowianki sings folk and Biesiada songs. Its founding in Bukowiec and its organisational affiliation with the GOK are separate geographical and organisational connections.
