Explore Bełchatów through its city routes, architectural history and energy production. These themes can provide a starting point for planning your trip: the green corridor along the Rakówka, three routes with different focuses, PGE Giganty Mocy and the Dworek Olszewskich appeal to different interests. You can choose the focus of your stay based on the places and topics that interest you most.

City Routes and Themed Trails

The green corridor along the Rakówka serves as a link for pedestrians and cyclists between the districts of Binków, Słoneczne, Edwardów, Okrzei and Budowlanych and the centre of Bełchatów. It is a point of reference within the city, alongside the themed tourist trails.

The three trails differ in theme and length. The 4 km-long historical trail “Bełchatów wczoraj i dziś” is designed for exploring the history of Bełchatów. The 3.8 km-long trail “Bełchatów pełen dobrej energii” is intended for the whole family. The 5.6 km-long sports and recreation trail “Energia jest tu” provides access to a skatepark and a pump track. All three tourist trails in Bełchatów lead to Jabłoniowy Sad.

Exhibition and Architectural History

In the centre of Bełchatów, on the revitalised plac Narutowicza, you’ll find PGE Giganty Mocy. The interactive exhibition shows how lignite forms, how it is burned and how electrical energy is generated. Its subject connects the raw material with its combustion and the subsequent generation of electricity.

The Dworek Olszewskich offers a different historical perspective: the late-Baroque building was erected by the Rychłowski family in the first half of the 18th century and is located near the centre of Bełchatów. The address is Rodziny Hellwigów 11. Original interior features have been preserved, including a fireplace, patterned mosaic parquet flooring and decorated doors. The architectural style and these details offer different insights into the building: its architectural framework and the design of individual interior features.
